I played P3 first and found the main characters more memorable than that of P4. P4's game play is more refined and it had a better supporting cast, in terms of social links, villains and minor characters.

Havent touch P4 yet since I gave away my PS2 and they didnt not release it on PS3 classic. I am hyped for P5...P3 is such a fantastic JRPG.

I find the battle mechanics to be better than those of P3 and P4. As of the storyline, they were both really good, especially P2:EP, and I would replay P2:EP over P3 any day. That being said, they aren't without default. You are guided for the entire plot way too much, most of the time, you just can't enter 75% of the buildings just because it's not yet/anymore the time to do it. Difficulty can be harsh too, but this part will mostly depend of your experience in the old Shin Megami Tensei games. If you know the universe and most of the personas, you'll know what to expect and prepare to have awesome combinations. P1, P2:IS and P2:EP are as close as P3 and P4 are. I would prefer to play P2:EP over P3 not because it's a better game, but because it's a different game, wherease P3 and P4 are "clones" with P4 as a better game (for me at least). Storywise, both P2s have nothing to be ashamed of compared to the most recent ones. Btw I still love P4 the most, but as a SMT lover, you can't go wrong with trying both P2s. Exactly, like you said. They took P3 and P4 in a direction which I really don't like. The style is more aimed towards kids and it really puts me off. The openings alone are enough to show the differences: Persona 2: Tsumi Persona 3: or Persona 3: FES

personally, I know this will throw people off but while I don't want spoilers, I kinda do want a true ending guide ready for when the western release happens, don't want to do multiple runs of the game to figure out true ending, don't have that kind of time.

I just don't want to get completely fucked out of an ending because of something that was not really forseeable.

I don't know about you, but when I play Persona I like to binge it. Partly because they're so damn long, but also to get immersed. Best to save it for when you have a few weeks to sit in your room and do nothing

Best to save it for when you have a few weeks to sit in your room and do nothing I know! I can't imagine waiting that long, avoiding spoilers like crazy for this game that I had been waiting for, forever. On March 21 2017 05:56 andrewlt wrote: Yeah. I don't want to play, then travel, then play, then travel, then bla bla bla, then back to playing again. For a game like this, it feels like it will break the immersion. A few days without playing is ok, a week is too long. Gotcha. Well safe travels.
