I also helped her select the viewsonic xg2700 which is a 4k60hz monitor with an hdmi 2.0 port as well, and got her an hdmi 2.0 cable. Naturally, when trying to change the display settings, the default is set to 30 fps without an option for 60 fps. When I try to add a custom resolution above 30 hz it states there isn't enough bandwidth. This is using the intel hd 530 tool, the dedicated nvidia card does not appear to control the displays.
So, the most obvious issue is that the hdmi port might be 1.4 rather than 2.0 but i haven't been able to find a definitive answer to this and ASUS support sucks. I'm definitely using the correct monitor port, and a 2.0 cable. The other option I have is to use a DisplayPort to USB-c adapter and run it with that option, but if that fails I'm out of ideas. Any one have any thoughts?
Thanks Judging by www.trustedreviews.com the HDMI port is indeed 1.4 and using the Thunderbolt port may be your best option:
"On the left you'll find a second USB 3 port, an HDMI 1.4 port – which can drive an external 4K monitor, but only at a jerky 30Hz – and a fancy USB Type-C port. This works with both Thunderbolt and USB 3.1 peripherals and displays, and will be particularly useful if you want to plug your laptop into a Thunderbolt docking station."

I'm having this weird 'issue' with my GTX 1080 from KFA2.
You can download software from KFA2 to change the colour of the LED nameplate, but you can't change the colour of the fan LEDs with that software.
Nvidia does have a tool to do that, but that doesn't work for me at all.
Is there any way to turn off fan LEDs?

The first thing i'd do is play around with the settings (contrast, alpha, brightness etc...) a bit, and see if that is what you actually mean.

It's a collection of test images with explanations to help you manually calibrate a monitor. Besides for working on each monitor's picture by itself, those images might be good for trying to get both monitors to look as similar as possible.

So I'm not very familiar with Apple products, but I just started using my iPad to play Fire Emblem Heroes.
All of a sudden, I'm completely out of storage space, out of ~12GB. Going into the settings, I can see the app breakdown of all the apps I have, and it adds up to about 5GB. I'm like 99% sure I ran out of space because I've been "rerolling" my initial characters in FEH, which involves deleting the app, downloading it again, and installing a 400MB update. So I'm assuming that the data I'm downloading is being stored in a folder I don't have access to. Does anyone know how I can access it, or how I can delete the data?

I would see if Apple has a file explorer type app available. Android has EF File Explorer which is useful for analyzing where space is in use.

Was able to clear up some space, looks like it was being caused by a different app. Ended up downloading a 3rd party cleaning app after not being able to find a solution through Apple. Thanks for the suggestion.

I recently purchased a new graphics card and despite what I read about it I cannot connect my power cables to it. Apparently there are newer versions of my PSU that have the exact same name but with different cables. I've got the XFX 480 8GB and an old SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze and I am trying to figure out if I need a new cable(s) or new PSU. I've got pictures of the cables I have available. http://imgur.com/a/Y01PS
I also have one 6 pin output from the PSU currently in use that I might be able to repurpose? It is split into two 1x4 pin outputs that go to the case fans. Can I connect the case fans to the free PSU slots with another cable somehow and then buy another 6 pin cable to connect my PSU to the other 8-2x6 adapter that goes into the card?

apologize if this isn't in the right place but is it legal to play in window mode? I'm having trouble changing the resolution and am finding window mode to be a lot easier to play in. like is this frowned upon or considered cheating?

So how are you guys feeling about Ryzen vs 7700K for gaming in the very near future? I'm still trying to filter the fanboyism from the reality, but specific game updates + Windows scheduling updates + BIOS refinements + improved RAM overclocking is looking interesting for Ryzen.

Got some weird discoloration on my laptopscreen. Unfortunateley, I didn't manage to get a good picture of it:

(marked) http://imgur.com/7sXtGHn
The discoloration changes its location on the screen, depending on how I stored my laptop, right now it is badly to see, since it layed flat on my table(might be able to provide better pictures later on), but when I carried it around in my backpack for a while, the discoloration is stronger and concentated on the side of the screen that was pointed towards the ground. Any idea what this is and how to fix it? I assume humidity, though I have no idea how it got in there. Any idea if this would be covered under lenovos warranty?

I didn't understand what you had written in your earlier post about that 6-pin PCIe power connector. You are using an adapter to turn it into those old-school 4-pin Molex and then use those Molex for case fans?
If I understood that right, what you then explain here, that's what I would do as well. I mean, I would move the case fans to somewhere else to free up the use of the 6-pin PCIe power. Those SATA power connectors are definitely fine for case fans. There's no need to worry about fans using too much power.
I don't know why you link to that 6-pin PCIe power extension cable. Is the 6-pin PCIe cable coming out of the PSU too short or did you want to link to something else from that seller on Amazon?

Both are pretty strong but if you're chasing max performance the 7700k has some leads in the ~+30-40% range (mostly due to clocking 25% higher) with the well threaded games usually mitigating that but rarely putting Ryzen ahead

What's a good video editing software?
I'm interested in something cheaper because I don't plan on doing any crazy editing. Mostly just cutting up different videos and then splicing them together. (Like a compilation video of sorts.)
Some kind people told me to come ask over here, so that's what I'm doing.
