Team captain Impact started things off with a loss to jjakji. jjakji’s run came to a quick end when he lost a base trade to Patience to even things at 1-1. Patience’s four gate/oracle attack took down ByuN, but Classic put an end to that as his disrupters and more advanced army gave him the advantage in another basetrade, once again tying the series. Basetrades appeared to be the order of the day as Classic ended up on the losing end of one against Forte on Abyssal Reef, who brought the match to a close with his second victory as he weathered Zest’s attacks and eventually picked his colossus army apart with bio/mine/liberator.
Team Impact 4-2 Team Zest
The second series began with a PvP between Creator and Trust. Creator notched the first win through the use of carriers, but his robo play fell to Bunny on Newkirk Precinct. Bunny won his second game as a double drop undid Dear, putting Team herO ahead 2-1. Rogue ended Bunny’s streak on Honorgrounds with the help of an ultralisk/infestor army. With things tied up, ByuL came in and posted a pair of ZvZ victories. He was ahead all the way against Rogue and managed to close things out. In game six he fought Solar and once more got out to a lead with an early pool. He leveraged his faster natural into a roach army that was too much for Solar to handle.
Team herO 4-2 Team Rogue
Rogue provided arguably the highlight of the day.
