Boy, oh boy. They surely do the book justice. I'd love to know how many people who watched the 5 episodes aired so far are constantly scratching their heads and wondering what in the actual fuck is going on in this show
It's super trippy (but so are all movies based on Gaiman's works) and I absolutely love the atmosphere and music. Some scenes are also so well designed and shot that I find myself collecting my jaw from the floor repeatedly.
If you ever thought that Twin Peaks or Hannibal are psychedelic, this is in a league of its own (I think they managed to top Naked Lunch now and I can't wait for more).

Just watched the new episode and it's getting better and better.

Amazing story telling in the last episode. Probably goes into my top 10 episodes of all times.

Yeah i liked it a lot as well, some people might feel completely differently about it though because it really didn't advance the plot at all. But i think the execution is excellent <3

My problem with episode 7 is simply that idon't like the actress. Her characters get for some reason zero sympathy from me and it's really hard to watch an hour of something you actually don't care about. It doesn't help that the characters are not necessarily good persons. And if you kow that this is mostly unneeded filler as the relationship between Leprechaun and Dead wive is probably not central for the plot anyway it is actually a hard episode to endure. In the end they probably hadn't enugh material for the number of episodes they got contracted for, so they added, literally filler.

I look at it completely differently. To me "plot" isn't the most important thing, rather the execution of ideas/characters, etc. American Gods is excellent in that department. It's a story about stories, very Gaimanesque. So while there technically is a main plot, i really don't think it is what interests me about the series, it's all the mythology, stories about "coming to america", etc and how all of that matters for the present time. I also don't see why the characters have to be "good people" tbh.

Yeah, no, there are very good examples of movies with "bod hombres" that are very good. But in all those cases it's important that we still relate to the character. I couldn't relate to the irish girl and therefore the episode was meh. It's a personel thing i guess

From the book alone they should have enough material to fill 2 seasons easily. This episode was no filler, it was an exploration of some of the characters and their motivations (with some interesting reveals as to the Laura/Leprechaun relationship). I don't like the actress either, even though people on the Internet seem to love her for some reason, but the episode definitely wasn't weak and I enjoyed the story thoroughly. This single episode told a story that could've easily made an entire season of some series alone.
