I've had no issues playing online, i've primarily been playing online in fact.

i just want some god damn end game content. the story is the chore I sit through to get to the fun stuff, which they have removed the past 2 gens.

Nintendo said it'd be a core RPG pokémon game, i still am so extremely confused anyone thought it'd be anything but a mainline entry to the series.
They basically announced that they're working on gen 8.

But yes, i do really wish the upcoming games have battle frontier or PWT, or both. Or a variant of the two. I miss that kind of post-game.

with smogon existing, breeding and competitive is pretty pointless unless you plan to play VGC or some other competitive platform. And even then most of them just lowkey use hacked pokemon.
The thing that separates the games is things like battle tower, battle frontier, and the other quirky extras

To me, the post-game is the best it has ever been right now by virtue of breeding and making 'perfect' pokémon being so much easier now.

Bedroom coding coming in 2018.

A new Nintendo Switch TV dock has been revealed, and it's less than half the price of the official one.
Nyko's Portable Docking Kit (below) will be available for just $44.99 when it goes on sale later this autumn.
With ports for HDMI and AC adaptor cables, the Portable Docking Kit allows players to easily connect the Switch to a TV.
Not only is it cheaper than the official Nintendo Switch TV dock, but it's also much smaller, which means you can take it with you wherever you go.
"Portable Docking Kit is a compact docking station that allows players to easily connect the Switch console to a TV without carrying their home dock everywhere with them.
"Powered by a USB Type-C AC Adapter, the kit keeps the Switch charged while playing on the TV and includes a built-in stand to keep the console upright, with ports for the HDMI cable and AC adapter."
Unlike the official Nintendo Switch TV Dock, it doesn't come with a spare HDMI cable and AC Adaptor.
There's currently no plans for a UK release, but Nyko products typically get picked up by third-party sellers on the likes of Amazon.
Nyko also showcased its Power Shell Case during the E3 Gaming Expo.
The new Nintendo Switch case sports a hard outer shell, which is also light enough to carry around.
It also features space enough to transport your Nintendo Switch and a total of 16 games. Alternatively, you can carry 15 games and two microSD cards.
Elsewhere, the Power Shell features a 6000 mAh battery, which Nyko claims will double the battery life of the Nintendo Switch.
The case also charges your Nintendo Switch via a stowaway Type-C cable that is stored within the outer rim of the case.
Another nice feature is the built-in stand, which lets you play the Switch in tabletop mode while charging.

Mario Odyssey looks awesome too. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, this game has had so much hype from people I might give this a try. Holy crap there goes my life again in a few months Prime 1 was easily one of the best games for Gamecube tbh.

what is the benefit of taking all that time to play with your friends on the game instead of smogon? Not to mention the formats on the game are incredibly shitty, the ladder uses the take 6 pick 3 system which is fucking horrid. I cant see any upside to playing on the real game because its not run properly. You also severely limit your options/movesets.
The logistics are just not in any way in anti-smogon favor

alright i just wanted to hear you admit that you're a homer, literally nothing I said was opinion there. It's all factual.
The ladder in the game uses pick 6 take 3. It takes a long time to grind a team. There are less pokemon/moveset options. Takes 10 minutes tops to make an account and be ready to play on smogon.
These aren't opinions.
Having "more fun" on an arbitrary different platform, now that's an opinion!

You list these things as though they're downsides or huge negatives while to me they either don't matter or are infact part of the reason i find playing inside the game more fun.

you dont provide any counterarguments though. you just say "lol moar fun"
they arent opinions if you can't actually explain how these things are good.
I don't think you've even mentioned one positive of the actual game over smogon besides "lol moar fun"
just because you personally dont care about them doesnt mean they arent huge design flaws. Pokemon homers are the worst.

Pokemon homers are the worst. What the fuck are you even talking about? I didn't just say "lol moar fun" i explained how working on the pokémon and playing with my friends inside the game was ultimately how i had the most fun. I also said that i already played using smogon/showdown, so it's not like i've never tried it out, i spent most of gen 5 on showdown. In the end it just wasn't as fun to me. And how isn't fun a good determinant for which of the two i should spend my time on? Why the fuck else would i be playing it and battling with pokémon if not because i thought it was fun? I like breeding pokémon, i like talking with friends about stuff related to battling, i like helping friends out with their own projects(and being helped by them) and then later battling them. I like the entire experience and it is by far more fun to me. It's also why the period after a new game releases and before pokébank opens for it is some of the most fun i have in a pokémon game because we're all starting from the bottom and working our way back up until the bank opens.
You dislike the actual game, i don't, and neither does any of the people i play with, these are just our opinions. I don't have a problem with your's and i don't see any reason for you to have a problem with mine.
