so I finally played Vengeance properly for a guild alt run, and yeah I can see why it needs a nerf
was previously running Feed the Demon for the 4 set + leech legendary combo, but now I can't get over how broken Spirit Bomb is with constant soul fragments from Fracture
skorpyron cheese mmm...
@Cyro: 915 EOC + 900 crit stat stick or 915 EOC + 895 COF?
also seems like I'll be sticking with Anger + DoG until I get the cloak, if ever

Are 7.2.5 legendarys even good for any class?
Seems like Soul of the battle lord would be pretty good for Fury warriors i think. other one im not sure, seems good in theory but in practice im not certain

EOC+statstick are excellent, COF is usually awful but fits decently into some fight niches like lining up meta without shoulders for after the bat phases on tichondrius

Yeah, should be quite a few. Havoc cloak is topping simDPS but might apply damage a bit too randomly in practice.
Soul of the Slayer looks good on paper but it has few enough stats on it to be pretty terrible, maybe a niche item - Sephuz has 60k DPS worth of extra Crit and Haste on it, that usually makes it win by a large margin without even proccing. There's also the proc and +10% runspeed 24/7 on top of that so sephuz is top tier and the new ring is somewhere around the middle-bottom of the list.
Both of the Boomkin legendaries are good to amazing, they have one that lets them take soul of the forest + incarn at the same time and the other which changes the moon spell cycle in a major way.
Most people don't understand it yet because the explanation of the effect doesn't properly cover what it actually does and it's brand new, rarely tested so not showing up on Warcraftlogs and not implemented in Simcraft yet - many have written it off without even equipping it for lack of good information
This is how i think it goes after some discussion:
without moon legendary:
new moon wait 15s half moon wait 15s full moon wait 15s new moon
with moon legendary:
new moon wait 15s half moon wait 15s full moon, full moon, new moon wait 15s half moon wait 15s full moon, full moon, new moon wait 15s half moon wait 15s full moon, full moon, new moon
etc so you're basically firing off twice as many moon spells (which do damage & generate AP) while 50% of them are Full Moons instead of 33%.
T19-4p + T20-2p looks like a great option for Havoc atm. Just by toggling the set bonuses in Simcraft it's ~30k DPS ahead of t20-4p and ~10k DPS ahead of t20-4p + t19-2p. You can overcome that with slightly better legendaries (on t20-4p with the other two slots for tier-slot-legendaries), better choice of stats and higher item levels but it's not particularly easy to do so, it will take a little while and then the t20 sets will only be better for certain talents.
I'm not gonna use my Chaos Theory for a while because it fits a bit better w/ tier 20 and i'l probably use t19-4p for a while yet. It's also pretty random for progress, good chance that it just doesn't activate for a whole important phase while some other legendaries provide a constant or reliable powerful effect. 970 is great, though, so gz to all that get a 970 version of good legendaries on the morning of raid day :D
Raid bugged so we can't reach anything beyond the third boss
----
Also with the way that legendary upgrade things work (any past 50 are wasted) we're going to see a lot of weird behavior like holding the mythic+ chest for half of the week and a wave of people hearthstoning out of the raid to hand in their upgrade token every boss as everyone has different and random amounts of the quest item. Saw this today as some people completed the quest after 1 boss, some people after 2, some people after 3 etc

edit: Nvm just realized it is still the old 890. Lame.
M+ ilevel doesn't change until Mythic opens.
Max level gear is going to heroic tier ilevel and max level weekly cache to mythic tier ilvl, same as before (915 and 930)
Took us a while to figure out how to deal with Hydra Shot and how to get the Whale to go away on Sassz'ine, and the 30min we had for Desolate Host didn't allow us the kill because damn that boss is complicated on paper, but everything else went pretty well.
Sadly 3rd priority for Protector Tokens so I'll have to wait a bit for my 4part+2part combo. Which mean getting used to be bottom of the meter by far currently. I'm hoping for more tuning before Mythic because Windwalker are VERY bad currently.
Havoc probably going up w/ the changes too (people are using 1trick single target burst talents for every single boss because nothing else is really viable & it's not going well for them numerically) but windwalker seems even worse off.
Welp, they basically fucked us over. They were so condencending I can't fucking believe it.
Yeah, i don't like a lot of the discussion on both the player and dev sides. Wrong questions and meh answers, IMO, but it's a step up to have some discussion rather than talks of substantial reworks followed by no developer response for the whole patch cycle.
There are a bunch of whole comment threads with people mass upvoting/downvoting about celestion's wacom tablet for cursor control too. As someone who has actually used one a lot, i'm certain that it would work pretty well @ cutting edge level if the camera turning is fixed to be alright. The main issue there is that absolute positioning with this polling rate resets the cursor position to wherever the pen is ~135x per second, that leads to doing a 360 degree turn every 0.1 second unless you have fixed it somehow like using insanely low "mouse sensitivity" for the camera turning. I didn't put time in to get that work but i might give it a shot now.
There are solid strengths and some weaknesses over mouse as an input device but it's nothing compared to the differences in the way that people play their class and think about the fight - an excellent player will easily be way more useful than a below average player with a mouse. Most players in general are also awful at using mice, too, they have bad mouse settings with unpracticed aim and poor posture to go with it and this is rarely criticized or even thought about.
There's no reason to get caught up on that when there are actual design/balance decisions which are much more objectively wrong, so many people choosing to hate the person for the sake of hating the person rather than doing anything useful. 95% of them have probably never used this kind of input device.

There was an interesting quote about tier sets:
"In general, we want players to move onto the next raid tiers. However, there are some caveats. If you're comparing your Mythic titanforged Nighthold gear compared to Heroic Tomb gear, there's certainly a chance that based on ilvl alone, your Nighthold gear might be better. We currently don't tune the bonuses on Tier 20 to be better than Tier 19 or vice versa, and expect the ilvl increase to carry much of the throughput increase in cases where they are similar. In the cases where T19 was out of band, we did a tuning pass in 7.2.5 to reduce the throughput of those overperforming T19 set bonuses to make room for T20 to be good. That all said, if the power level of T19 2pc+4pc is significantly higher than the power level of T20 2pc+4pc, we would want to adjust one or the other to address it."
Easy to sim
T19-2P is still not working properly so it's not helping as much as it would
This is all at the same ilvl, some standard legendaries and just hard enabling or disabling of the set bonuses with no gear changing at all
With a particular combo - T19-4p + T20-2p - the T20-2p does nothing at all. It buffs an ability that is only used when there are 5 targets around but in any situation where there are 5 targets it's instead superior to break the tier set to use a legendary that harnesses that target count to improve ST and sustained AOE damage. The other 6-way tier will likely be broken too for those situations, leaving it straight 4p vs 4p
I found the console command for mouse turn sensitivity, my usual sens was around 100 and for tablet i turned it down to 3-5 with some quick iteration though maybe 10 is usable
Quite awkward for fast 180 turns, i'm not sure how much improvement could be seen from adjustment and practice :D

On a second thought, I guess TOS is not easier. Difficult to compare in hindsight anyway.
KJ is surely pretty tough. And with how quickly you can wipe in p1 progressing the later phases is pretty annoying. But it is the type of boss I like, no super weird mechanics but basic movement and coordination stuff.
