Introduction: Garden Grove was a name that was actually based off a city I live near (if you live in los angeles, the name should sound familiar to you). Although the map is not entirely a protoss base, a temple, or even a garden, I just felt it was fitting as it has the essence of peace involved.
To avoid confusion, the low grounds behind the corner bases are NOT pathable. I will work on this soon.

because the natural terrain space is curved up towards the third elevated expansion, i dont see many interesting games being played out or using up the full size of the map. The elevated positions look too strong either way you expand
|
I have plans later this week, or early next week, to fix the natural/3rd layout a little bit.
|
Map updated 7/18/17
1) Natural and 3rd Layout Re-designed Previously the natural ramp curved around and faced the high ground 3rd base, which can pose balance issues considering the 3rd bases were a little further than expected. The new setup allows for an easier 3rd and provides better flow.
2) Watch Towers added Ideally the map is fine without watch towers, but I found it fitting and proportionally good to have watch towers without them being too overpowering.
3) Pathing and Aesthetics Updated No description needed

how many buildings does it take to wall both the nat ramp and the choke to the 3rd together?

standard 2 rax/1 supply for main ramp, and 2 supply depots for the small choke
|
you mean 2 depot 1 rax?
You misunderstood what neg was asking. He means for this choke, which is what people would actually attempt to wall.
|
that does appear to be a bit larger than the standard, looks like 12 or 13. If so easy fix, but good call on pointing that out
|
yeah that's what i was referring to, looks a little wide. one solution would be to copy abyssal reef and cover most of the ramp with rocks to reduce the choke width.
|
Yeah you could probably put a 6x6 rock on the ramp leading side and be fine.
