Seriouslt what happened ? Did the other players just played well ? Do you guys think if it was BO1 Last would have made it out for sure ?
Last made a critical error in his game vs ssak where he had an air force designed to stop ssak's air fleet of dropships and moved them south for whatever reason right as ssak moved in from the north to drop. Instant gg
I thought he got bated by ssaks wraiths or something when i saw it. It must have been something like that.

This. 2-1 finished immediately after the battle. Game winning decision from Stork right there imo, very few Protoss attack before the full mech army has moved out of the bridge, but Stork attacked right before Last could lay mines and 2-1 kicked in, catching him offguard . I also like that Stork was using shuttle in every engagement, for dt/zealot drops or to get the storms out safely

he shouldve been more diligent with scans though. we saw in the same position when ssak went for the same doom drop vs flash, flash was scanning everywhere for the dropships

I'm not sure the two are analogous. Stork lost a ton of economy, but he was able to clean up that first push quite efficiently and the mech army takes a long time to rebuild, so he was able to get his economy back up while still keeping up in supply.
I guess you could liken it to Terran suiciding 4 groups of bio to kill your natural, but you still have 10 lurkers lol.

Last threw his lead the first time he pushed out over the bridge (leading to his main) after he was maxed. Both players were maxed but Stork had 4 bases and was taking his 5th. Last's edge in that scenario would have been to have an upgrade lead (wish he should have had) so he could roll Stork's army cost efficiently. Instead he only had 1-0 and decided to push out with his tanks exposed and no mine protection, he lost ~40 supply worth of tanks for free there. At that point Stork's eco kicked in again so he was able to just churn out gate units and keep the momentum.
I don't understand why Last would even consider moving out like that with just 1-0 and i don't understand why his 2-1 was so late considering his 4th was suuuuuper delayed, was really weird.
It was a good decision to move out, Stork invested heavily into reavers and his 4th was late. At that point they were pretty even on supply and sometimes it's a good decision to push out earlier instead of letting P have a chance of getting back in the game. Also he knew zealot speed wasn't going to finish soon. He did make a key mistake of losing all his tanks to kill a nexus which is not a good trade.
This is what I'm talking about:
Last pushes out with 1-0 at a point in the game where he should have been 2-1 (considering how late his 4th was, how early his 3rd was and how late he pushed out).
His decision to push out with 1-0 is already flawed.. but then he decides to push out over the bridges and expose his tanks with no mine support, his tanks are completely exposed.
Stork trades out evenly in supply with Last (70 to 70 which obviously isnt good for Terran, he lost a ton of tanks) but he's taking his 5th at this point and already has all his gateways up. Last has to remake his tanks (which takes a long time) and he's reinforcing his army with weak upgrades. He should have been 2-1 when he pushed out and he should have been at least 3-1 by the time the later engagements happened. In any case after this exchange Stork has a huge lead, Last mined out his main and Stork was sitting on 5 bases.
Ah that's what you are referring to. I think Last was just trying to set up outside the bridge and not moving out which is quite common for TvP in FS. The main reason behind doing that is if you camp too long in base P can just form a concave outside the bridge and it is very hard to break out. But yeah he probably should have waited a while more to secure that position but definitely good attack from Stork.
Even I am very happy for the commander. I can't understand why Last played so uncharacteristically weak in both his games? What's up with weak 1-0 upgrades. Very strange. Can someone knowledgeable comment on his decision making? On the other hand two last engagements were state-of-the-art PvT from Stork.
It's interesting to note that 2-1 finished right at the *end* of that engagement. The last few tanks that getting hit by storms had 2-1 I believe. If that was planned...that was a sick ee han timing.

I think fuckup might be too harsh. Not to sound cliche but this really shows what a game of inches brood war can be. That engage itself was about 6-8 seconds, which means that Last was 8 seconds away from 2-1 and was just edging knowing it was about done.
But I guess its these decisions that separate great from bonjwa.
Storks mine clearing and observer control was one crazy thing about this game as well I think. Stork lost so few units to mines which makes it sooo much harder for terran to win. Stork played a crazy mid/end game.
