How do I disable sending the error report being sent to Microsoft on W10 when getting a BSOD?
Like okay, my computer crashed, but I know the reason, I don't really like spending those 20 seconds just waiting for the percentage to increase. My computer can reboot in like 3 seconds after the bios screen, so if I'm in a game and my computer crashes, I'd like to be able to hop back into it in 30 seconds rather than 50.
Please and thank you

Got a new Corsair Strafe keyboard and now my computer gets stuck on boot with a 0d motherboard error.
I figured out that if I unplug the keyboard until after startup it will boot fine but I was wondering if there was a more practical solution?

Sounds simple but hsve you tried different USB port and keyboard cable?

I am currently in the process of downloading a shit-ton of mp3 files directly from Youtube from my favorite music channels. There are a lot of channels from which I'm downloading these mp3 files from though, and after I'm done, I might have somewhere around 10,000 songs to sort through. However, it's highly likely that there will be multiple duplicates of various songs that have been uploaded by two or more channels.
Would any of you know of a program that could help identify these duplicates for me (via the audio from the mp3 file I suppose) so that they can be reviewed and deleted?

Does Blizzard have any games that work with VR? or 3D? I guess you need a 3D monitor or 3D glasses for 3D games?

There are several forms of 3d with different results and requirements, the best have limited monitor compatibility and use expensive glasses. Game support is very poor in general but sc2 and WoW have some support for nvidia 3d vision

This might sound stupid, but it is fucking infuriating.
For some reason, every single time i try to share anything on my network, stupid problems arise. I seem to not grasp some simple concept, but i have no idea what that is. 15 years ago, i could simply click a folder, and let everyone on the network access it. That is apparently completely impossible now.
Instead i apparently have to work with Homegroups. The last time i wanted to move files around, i managed to set a homegroup up, and sharing worked. But now, for some reason, i am no longer a member in my own homegroup. The homegroup panel states that a homegroup created by me on my PC exists, and i can join it by typing the password. Sadly i don't know that password anymore (Or never did, because it was some random shit that the homegroup made up). So now there is a homegroup that no PC is in, and that no one can join, and that i apparently can not get rid of because i am not in it.
I just want to share files with other PCs on my network. There has got to be a simpler way than doing that via internet and dropbox. What the fuck do i have to do? I don't care about safety, it is a cabled home network, so for anyone to get access, they would have to be in my apartment anyways. I just want to be able to move files between two windows 10 pcs connected to the same network. Why is that so hard?

I don't think you have to worry about homegroups at all (all of my computers share fine w/o having joined the same one: 2x W7, 2x W10, 1x FreeNAS via Samba/CIFS). In fact, the owner of my current homegroup is the PC I just rebuilt this week (W7) while others have been on the network for years.
Set your network as private and turn on file sharing, then right click a folder > properties > sharing > advanced sharing > check box.
Under network and sharing center > advanced sharing settings you can turn on network discovery and automatic setup of connected devices, as well as file and printer sharing.
For what it's worth, all you have to do w/ homegroups is type "homegroup" in the start menu (W7, W8, or W10) and open the HomeGroup control panel item. There's a change password button there if you're the owner (if you aren't it will tell you which PC is and you can log into that one to change it).
If you don't have access to that (the owner PC isn't on the network anymore) it should give you the option to create a new one. If it doesn't, the nuclear approach is basically to shutdown all the PCs, restart the router, then power your PC on so there aren't any other PCs/homegroups detected and you can create a new one. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-networking/phantom-homegroup-need-to-delete-homegroup-from-a/28f494ea-d0e9-4aeb-8e32-20f0942d1f11?auth=1

Has anyone had issues with the Dual Shock 4 on PC?
I just replaced my mobo/cpu, and the controller is no longer recognized by the pc. Flashes white when I press the PS button. Tried different USB cables, those hacky PS4 drivers, controller resets, all without any success.
I don't see anything showing up in devices (nothing like playstation controller, or wireless controller even). I don't have another controller I can try to see if its a dead controller or something,
Anyone have any tips?

Please and thank you I expect that it's creating the memory dump that's taking time. Either way, minimizing the dump size may reduce the time to create it and to upload it.

My wlan stick uses 802.11n, my fritzbox do offer 802.11ac. Is ac better when the signal power stays the same?
|
AC is faster (potentially), supports more antennas (8 vs 4), and has beamforming (strengthen signal toward where devices are detected).

So I have a GTX 1060 6GB + Show Spoiler [exact model] +https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137040 . Recently I've been doing deep learning stuff, so pretty much for the last 3 weeks or so it's been at full temperature and fan, full compute usage, full memory usage, 24/7. The last few days though its seemed to be running out of memory more than previously, and MSI afterburner is reporting memory usage at idle of around 200 MB / 3072 MB, but the card is still reported as GTX 1060 6GB. On the other hand when keras runs out of GPU memory, it still reports ~5800 MiB total memory. Did I burn up some of the memory? Or am I paranoid and imagining things? Anyone have any ideas?
As a side-note, I just noticed that I bought it a year and a half ago, and it cost me less than half of what its on Newegg for right now. Weird how mining makes a computer component is a maturing asset...
|
Prices are way up because of supply and demand. Mining has a ton of hype right now so everything is being bought up (much of which is being resold at gouged prices; note the third-party sellers).
Running full load for a few days is pretty trivial. Miners do this for months at a time. I imagine if you somehow "burned up" any amount of memory the whole thing would be failing.
Generally miners will scale settings back a bit from its maximum to lower temps (lowering the voltage and increasing the fan speed helps drop temps considerably). If you're concerned, just do the same. In MSI afterburner you can just set the power threshold down to like 70-80% and adjust the fan curve or manually set it to a higher %. I basically tweak my settings to keep temps <= 70C at full load.

Hi everyone, just recently bought a laptop and there has been some snags/lags when I'm on the computer. It will do very small freezes here and there. It's still very much useable, just really annoying. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm willing to give some more information if someone is willing to help. Is there any diagnostic tests that I can post on here to try and show what my problem could be?
