Aren't you Mr Family Values?
E: and just to be clear, I couldn't give a fuck what Donald did with Ms. Daniels, but I also didn't give a fuck what Clinton did with Ms. Lewinsky.

There wasn't a Family Values candidate in the general.

I know he was impeached for lying about getting a blowjob (and the impeachment was justified. Fucking idio), but he only even got the opportunity to lie under oath because it was "congressional investigation worthy" to question him about a blowjob.
E: anyway, I'm not commenting because I think you should have voted differently. I'm commenting because you, Mr Family Values, are defending someone for having extra-marital relations. That, as well as about a hundred other things Trump repeatedly does should sicken you a lot more than it sickens me. Yet you keep putting your head on the chopping block for him. And I don't understand why.

Trump seems more the type to brag about banging a pornstar.
acrofales: keep in mind this affair of trump's happened a decade ago. and as to how people reconcile these things: that's partisanship/tribalism for you. There's a set of well documented psychological/sociological mechanisms that cover this kind of behavior, I could probably dig up some links if you want. it is indeed rather surprising how far some will go to back their sides' people even if they otherwise wouldn't meet their standards.

You’re also wrong about how he got the opportunity to lie under oath. It was not a congressional inquiry. It was not as a consequence of congress investigating a blowjob. Try again.

reports i'm hearing are saying it's not an actual alert; that it's just a drill that sent out the wrong message. in point of fact, the responses themselves to that tweet are saying that; did you check those before posting?
|
Well eventually a congressman put out a message saying they confirmed there is no incoming missile. I wonder if they were hacked or what. Either way, I am sure there were a lot of panicking people. The real system put out a real alert, there was no way for the people receiving it to not know it was in error.

don’t mind him he can’t help himself but tell people how to post.

I feel like however long it takes someone to decipher what happened is a reasonable amount of panic.

At the time of his post there was no one credible saying it was fake. This all happened very quickly and the 5 minutes it took for zlefin to respond was when evidence confirming its falsehood was made apparent.
A retroactive edit with an update is in order but any panic in that span of time was entirely justified. Cut the guy some goddamn slack.

Cut the guy some goddamn slack. you missed the point. noone disputes that panic in that tmie is justified; but it's also the case that the eidt shoudl and MUST be made once it's confirmed to be false; and he made a post wherein he acknolwedged it has now been proven false, which means he should hvae immediately edited the original post to so note that. rather than simply wanderin goff and leaving an actual emergency warning post up that he knew to not be an actual emergency. you do NOT leave false emergency notifications up.

What a major screwup...If a launch ever actually happens they now have to add 'it's really really really really not a drill'
Also I'd have no clue what to do when receiving that message.

Also I'd have no clue what to do when receiving that message. follow the standard emergency protocols for the situation. go to the nearest shelter, while listening to whatever news sources you have. if you don't know where the nearest shelter is; just go to the safest place you can find: indoor/basement. iirc for this kind of thing. hide under something sturdy.

You know what's a great documentary? The Fog of War by Errol Morris. Maybe we need some real panic in order to address the issue of nuclear war. Imagine if hackers had hacked into the North Korean or Chinese threat relay system.

People in the affected region seeing this might absolutely flip their s***. Zlef is trying to ensure that doesn't happen. That's quite reasonable.
