Just an all round great mind who made documentaries which were so fascinating. Also he was a great believer in not going to extreme with AI as he too was scared of the AI uprising potentially dooming humanity haha. Still, he got very far in life when he was not expected to last very long at all after his diagnosis. He will be sorely missed!

Hawking lived and I am happy that I had the privilege of seeing his lectures and documentaries.

I doubt that it exists, obviously. Why would i doubt that he came up with the prediction? He didn't "discover" it btw, which would imply that it actually exists. He's on the stairway to heaven now. Well.

“One of Hawking’s regrets in life was not having an opportunity to run over Margaret Thatcher’s toes.” On top of the great mind was a sharp wit and gift for comedy. Source

Hawking for an interview. “You’ve stated that there could be an infinite number of parallel universes,” the host of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight" asked Hawking. “Does that mean there’s a universe out there where I am smarter than you?” “Yes,” Hawking replied from his wheelchair, his lips bending up into a slight smile. “And also a universe where you’re funny.”" https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/stephen-hawking’s-secret-to-surviving-his-terrible-condition-a-sense-of-humor/ar-BBKbTUF?li=BBnbcA1&srcref=rss

There's an interesting discussion about this here: If you don't have time to watch, the conclusion is basically that there is such a huge gap between theoretical and experimental science that we have to rely on theoretical consensus right now for things like Hawking radiation, and the consensus is that it appears to be real. RIP Hawking <3 What an inspirational guy.

A loss to the public and one of the few world-famous scientists who actually stayed firmly involved in his field instead of retiring to layman's books and documentaries, so an unknowable loss to actual science. He was still writing papers and correcting other physicists over things I can't even understand.
