Violent Night #32 Mutation overlap Description: You'd better watch out! Amon is exacting vengeance on those he deems naughty, and this most certainly includes you. There's still plenty of reason to be jolly-it's the season of giving, and there are gifts for everyone! But be warned: Amon does not like sharing.
Map: Map: Void Launch
Mutations
Gift Exchange: Gifts are periodically deployed around the map. If you don't claim them, Amon will!
Naughty List: Player units and structures take increased damage for each enemy they've killed.
Thoughts Commanders with disposable units will beat this easily.
Remember to claim the gift that spawns at 3:00, otherwise Amon will get hybrids from it. Amon will also send enemy units to get the gifts, so you have to face more attack waves than usual.
Did it with Stukov and Random Abathur, no sweat. Weird though, sometimes Amon got the gift even though we were sitting on it, having cleared the enemy wave a long time ago. I don't quite understand how that works.
I found this mutation pretty fun play, but definitely with some luck factor involved. Some gifts seem to be always claimed by Amon (says something like Amon is a stealing jerk).
Played Raynor with some Fenix player. On 1st attempt we were wiped out real fast as we didn't claim the first gift (learning process, ouch), and it spawned the kill-bot. It snowballed into losing another gift spawning another kill bot. LOL
On 2nd attempt mistakes were fixed, but some gifts were stolen by Amon, and one of them gave a frigging mutual destruction mutation (hybrids nuke when die), it was during a second to last wave I think. Needless to say that one of the nukes wiped my entire army out, and Fenix also suffered quite a few losses during this mutation if I'm not mistaken. Last wave has been murdering us with all we've got remaining, but we managed to kill enough shuttles and won by the skin of our teeth.
That said, it was quite fun to play and learn, and I think that I will probably play it a couple more times over the week. I love this one.
Didn't really notice the damage increase at all. Is there any list of what the gifts may contain? Also, do Terran upgrades buff the Archangel and if so, by how much?
I agree with wasilix, it is quite funny to play this one. Tried H&H now with a random Stukov, and that worked fine as well. Still don't understand how Amon can claim some of the gifts though? Seems a bit buggy. Got a bunch of killbots coming after us, but luckily Stukov was on the ball.
