I mean, Na'Vi was in the finals just a few days ago. And I don't wanna say they're playing really bad because of jetlag, but this is one of the main suspects I have for why they got demolished by Gambit on Nuke.

Now, Faze has been performing rather poorly for the past few months. Yes, they got Legend status and performed well against Astralis, but their start was quite poor. Their 3 wins were against Mouz, Tyloo, and a bo3 against G2. They lost against Big and Na'Vi and only won against lower-performing teams. Now, I do think them going out in last place was a surprise, but them not quite making the playoffs is not as much of a surprise given the time between the previous tournament as well as their past performances. A side note on Mouz was that they went out on September 14, so they had a long time not only to prepare for their opponents but also to get over any jet lag. Na'Vi, as we talked about, just lost in the finals, and I think the lack of break between events was really difficult in terms of performance consistency. They lost on the 23 of September, and ESL One started on the 26. They had around two days to get over jet lag. And Liquid, I think, was fortunate in two ways: They have been performing quite well, and except for the smack down in London by Astralis, they were strong against all the other teams they faced. Two, they had an easier group. G2 and NRG are good teams, but I don't think they have quite the star potential of Fnatic, Mouse, Gambit, or Na'Vi. Yes, Gambit have been performing awful for a while, but they still have that experience as well as a decent 2018. G2 has been the lower of the top teams all year. Liquid could then settle in whatever jet lag they had against NRG. NRG, to their credit, did win the first map in OT, but Liquid showed their prowess and experience and finished the other two maps. Then, Liquid smacked down G2 in the winner's match.

Not sure whether I should feel sorry or I should feel "I told you so." as I did write the following back in May: The idea that a team can be one of the best teams in the world with 3 bad fraggers is ridiciulous, regardless of how good they are tactically and from a teamcommunication perspective. This french shuffle will challenge the FNS acquisiton for worst move in 2018. And this back in June: If the G2 management had access to the statistical models and data I have, there would be 0% chance they would have gone with the linup. In my opinion best case for the G2 lineup is around #10 in the world. But there is no guarantee they even become a top 15 or for that matter top 20 team. They heavily need to outperform the sum of the parts when it comes to tactics and strategy. Perhaps next time he should do some basic research before paying bad players 25k euro a month. Ocelote. And probably you should also never listen to anyting this guy writes: this lineup has the pieces to be one of the best in the world
