if you're a student tell your proffs for an extension on all your assignments, if you gotta job, book the next two weeks off, if you have a pet, i suggest you leave him/her with a friend, stalk up on your favourite beverage and snack, get some toilet paper while you're at it, and be prepared to explain to your loved ones why they havent heard of you in the next two weeks. Fallout 3 is as addicting as cocaine. Even if you stop playing it, it will be all you think about >.>.

Dead Space is like, almost a System Shock 2 clone, which means it's almost identical to Bioshock ;P But that's fine tho, can never get too much of psychotic german scientists :D

What I liked: +VATS gives an interesting balance between real-time and turn-based combat +Lots of places to explore outside the main quest +Environment designs are very well done (vaults, outside world, caves, hideouts, etc... ) What I didn't like: -Different guns are not that interesting -Main quest is short (even shorter than Oblivion's main quest!) -PC version crashes quite often (check bethsoft forums) -Not a large variety of enemies -Overall system is easy to exploit Fallout reminds me of Bioshock, and I prefer Bioshock by quite a bit.

If your looking for an rpg/shooter fallout 3 tops the list, the shooter aspect isnt that great, but it makes up for it in every other way, really great game. Mass Effect imo had the better, more immersive main quest, but its very short and leaves little else to do thats fun, fallout 3 offers a ton of great content outside its main quest. Mass Effect isnt quite as good overall, can't recommend it over fallout 3 but its still a very well executed rpg/shooter. Farcry 2 was a big disappointment for me, I'd recommend crysis over it any day.

If I were you I would get Half Life 2 for sure, and dead space after that - both are more "traditional" shooters but with plenty of immersion and excellent storyline/direction, which Fallout 3 is somewhat lacking. If you liked oblivion and/or like exploring, then Fallout 3 might be for you. If you're looking for a "real" fps experience then I would look somewhere else.
