Dude who owns my local pcbang says he prolly will not be buying licences for sc2 because there's no lan? Is this true or is he just an uber nerd who plays c&c? Perhaps both? it depends on how blizzard is planning on handling pc bangs... he'll at least need the client installed on all of the machines

Id love to play in this if we could confirm SC2, not much point in me playing broodwar, (Because i am terrible). Unfortunatly I would have to take a day off work to play, which might not happen if I cant find out in the next week or so.

Alienware has stepped up again this year and is providing cash prizes to the tournaments.
So It will be split up even $500 for first place in Starcraft II, and $500 for first place COD4.
COD4 will be a 16 team double elimination, and Starcraft II will be Round Robin/Double elimination.
Thanks again to Alienware for the awesome prizes.

Anyone going to frag cutting through Lloydminster :3, I could use a ride and I will pay a nice part of the gas on the trip

Ok $500 first place sc2... that's awesome. I'd go for that :D except i work... and have a very low chance of even placing in the top 10 ... lol
|
buddy I'm going to place dead last but have tons of fun...that's what it's all about!

Come on, someone from saskatoon should totally go so they can come pick me up on the way there ;D

Fragga prizes are pretty good atleast for source. My irl friends have won fragga like 3 years in arow as well as lanageddon (In CS:S). Kind of dissapointed though lots of times its just like a decent mobo no one will ever use, so we end up selling them, or razor mice which just get thrown into the crowd. I will be attending this for Starcraft 2 though 100%.
|
For those thinking of attending, I can attest that the Fragapalooza War3 2vs2 tournament my brother and I attended back in 2002 ranks as one of the best I've ever attended. It is a bit more of a casual environment than most events (my brother was small talking with spectators sitting behind him at times during our games, for instance) and generally has more of a "community type" feeling than most tournaments. I also remember that they paid out prize money very promptly (a rarity for most LAN based events).
In short, unless they have changed, I highly recommend attending if one can. Will likely be a blast.

I work all the way up until Sunday. I'm guessing that it will be too late to enter by then? Also I was wondering if I decided to come check the event out on Sunday is there any cost to just come in and check it out?
|
Usually there is no cost as a spectator.. but it will be over by 2pm on sunday. Tourney qualifiers start on friday and tourney ends saturday night usually.
Spectators cant come in the building until like 10am and have to leave at a certain time though.
As for prizing. well its gone steadily downhill for the past few years.... went from winning CPU+ mobo combos worth 1500$ to winning 150$ worth of hardware, well it really depends on the year. Lately the best prizes have been given in random contests and what not, adds to the atmosphere etc.
Does not mean its not a good time. Sinatra and I will be there representing RSgaming, as we both live in edmonton. If anyone else shows up feel free to look us up

too bad this costs like 90 bucks.

$500 for 1st place... worth it...
|
Grats again guys It was a pleasure to watch you two go at it in the finals!

Hope all is well.
