People click on new threads because they're at the top of the list. They read the OP to see if it's for them and, if not, they move on. If the OP can change the name of the thread 10 minutes later, a lot of people might click on the thread again assuming it's something else and get frustrated at the waste of time. Why would you need to rename the thread immediately? Did the OP immediately decide to change the topic? Or the OP didn't take the time to think of an appropriate name before putting it out into the world? In my opinion, none of those are good reasons to give the OP more power. In all other cases, the OP can message a moderator who has the discretion to close or change the name of a thread. | ||
