Description: When I was 12, I traveled to Incheon, Korea to live with my step mother's family for half a year. While I was visiting, I had the opportunity of watching the original Starcraft being played on television. It was something that was completely new and interesting for me, to see a video game that I had known and played for so long, on television, being presented as a legitimate genre of entertainment. I was able to witness the beginning of the golden era for Korean BW, after the space suits, before the Match Fixing Scandal; a time when sponsors were partnering with existing teams, when the classic heroes like NaDa, sAviOr, iloveoov, were in their prime. I had the opportunity to play a game competitively (I played Protoss), with my uncle helping me understand the beauty of the game. When I came home, I was forced to stop playing in lieu of my studies, but I never forgot the amazement, watching what I thought was a simple game, reveal itself to be the greatest RTS game ever created. I still continued to enjoy the scene through contributors like, Jon747, Wifebeater, Nevake, etc.
Playing SC2, I'm reminded of that simple feeling of magic and wonder I first experienced when I was young. It reminds me of a time when I watched young Koreans like myself, present their hard work, enthusiasm and passion for the game. I want to live up to that legacy.
