So how do Asian guys dress? I've seen some pictures and it's really cool.
I am interested in the asian clothing. I am an asian guy myself.
This is what I wear on average: Top: A graphic tee or blank colored/white tee. For the winter, usually a wool sweater or something from North Face.
Pants: I wear skinny jeans for men so it isn't really tight. Since I can't afford better jeans, I stick to Levis 510/511 and some from Pacsun
Shoes: Either Converse, Vans, or Air Force.
T_T I am so unoriginal and I want to change my style now.
Where can I start? I live in the USA, sadly. Can I access like Asian clothing stores that are located in the USA? What are some names?
thx :D

Bad wording, sorry. I mean Asian guys in Asia. I'm Asian-American and the styles are completely different.

Just dress as you would want, ffs.

So how do Asian guys dress? Well, if Hwasin's modeling is any indication they dress like androgenous boys.

Yea this was a troll account just ignore that for now, I can't be bothered to make a real one. But check this out:
http://www.kinowear.com/blog/what-asia-taught-me-about-casual-style/
That blog is more or less dead but it's got a lot of clothing ideas that I think most men (and guys) can pull ideas from. It so happens to have an article about asian dudes style. So there you go. The forums might be active, I dunno. The one time I looked there it was just high school guys going OMGS DRESS ME.
Also yesstyle is unreliable at best. All of their brands are relatively unknown, they are all copies of botique brands anyways so it doesn't matter. You're shooting in the dark. If you do end up having to shop there MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR BODY MEASUREMENTS and use the conversion charts. But once again I warn it is unreliable, at best. The clothing quality is cheap, I got a blazer from there once. It didn't even have a lining and there wasn't even any felt under the collar. LOL what a joke. Anyways, shop there at your own risk. You'll be waiting a while for shipping too.
If you are lucky and live near a Uniqlo you'll have better luck there, even though it's just basic clothing.
Whatever you are trying to achieve make sure you have a goal or aesthetic in mind. Don't just go buying random crap because your progamer idol wears something similar. You're wasting money doing that because it probably doesn't suit you.

first, get an orange jumpsuit, some hair dye, and blue open toed sandals. then get some goggles, but you can discard those after a day or so.

every asian guy on my campus where's something completely outlandish or super nice/preppie blazers, crazy graphic t's, tight pants, 5 layers of hollister + abercrombie. i saw a guy wearing like a dress shirt with a sweater and a north face fleece over it when it was like 70 degrees out. oh and spiky hair is a must. along with bright colored shoes.

HOW TO DRESS AS A BAD ASIAN (ie Twinkies) Multicolored Popped Collars White Button Up Shirts + Carpenter Jeans Gay Baseball Hat Shoes with Rounded Fat Edges Anything from American Eagle/Abercombie Short Frat Hair with 50 pounds of Hair Gel (who uses gel these days? jeezes)
Typical Twinkie Asians
I'm serious. If you see any asian wearing the following you should go slap them in the face and tell them how stupid they look.
Well enough ranting, let me tell you an easy way to 'lie' that you're a good dresser.
1. Buy a grey cardigan. Don't get those gay cardigans with stupid drawings on them, get a plain, NORMAL BUTTON UP (NOT ZIPUP, ZIPUP CARDIGANS MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD) CARDIGAN.
Doesn't matter who you are, a grey cardigan will always make a person look a bit more classy than usual. Don't go digging around your grandparent's closet for a grey cardigan, go to some decent mall (preferably a mall with a brand BETTER than AE) and get one.
Cardigans are kinda expensive but they do look nice. Not to mention they are worth it
2. Now go buy a clean white button up shirt, or a white turtleneck. Preferably something you can wear even if you take your cardigan away.
One of the biggest rules of buying clothes that many people keep making mistakes with is before buying, always think
"HMM HOW DOES THIS [INSERT CLOTHE] FIT WITH MY OTHER STUFF IN THE CLOSET"
Don't get some weird Paris 2010 Fall Collection White Shirt that you will never wear, get something you can casually wear at any occasion.
3. Get a decent belt. Doesn't matter which brand, just get some kind of witty belt. Doesn't matter if there is a huge Paper Mario stuck to the buckle or picture of bob marely, just something that stands out.
Things to avoid: Stuff that says in huge letters "ABERCOMBIE" or "AMERICAN EAGLE" or "GUESS" Your goal is to prevent those brands as much as possible.
4. Black Skinny Jeans is my personal fav here, but eh who knows. Any kind of slim/skinny are fine here, but that doesn't mean other jeans won't fit. Don't be dumb and wear baggy jeans. It isn't 1990 anymore.
5. Get some casual shoes. If you really don't have any casual shoes, get some converse chuck's for $25 or something. Yeah those $25 chucks are kinda bad but hey your call.
6. Your hair. Believe it or not, your hair plays a HUEG part of dressing up. I have no idea what your hair style is like so I guess no comment. But don't cut it too short.
So in Short
Get some Button Up Cardigans
|
Plaid button down and slim/straight jeans are fine for casual. My younger cousins tend to buy Aeropostale....
edit: What the hell are "fat" shoes (Dunks?)
|
OP needs to be way more specific about what type of asian style he's going for, and i'm not only talking about nationality and peer groups.
also the serious people in here give such narrow and biased perspectives it's lol
pick and choose which styles suit you, and not the styles that others may have perhaps been successful with.

Lol MrHoon, you made my day. You are such a funny poster. :O But seriously thanks a ton for the tips! =)
Funny thing is I asked my mom to go to the mall yesterday to buy a cardigan because I wanted one. My hair isn't short. Imo it is a decent length if I went to any Asian country, but I haven't had it styled/cut yet. And yes I agree that black skinny jeans are FTW since I always wear them.

Girl tight for me is a no-no, but I wear men's skinny jeans which are not even "skinny" if that counts? :O I think my hair is pretty long enough but it's not really fobby-looking so maybe I should get a haircut or something. I saw those Legomen t-shirts (I think) and they look freakin sick where can I purchase it online or possibly irl???

I like the way Korean dress. I was on lookbook the other day and I saw some really nice/stylish outfits and I was like "O_O." But I honestly thought all Asian styles were pretty similar unless I am wrong (probably am!)

Ok this is probably what you want to see, the aforementioned "Big Bang" look is in this, as well as other "fob" style.
So you are a clueless Asian nerdling:
First you need to get yourself some baller shades:
Then you have to dump your ugly Asian girlfriend and go to prom with an ugly white girl:
Realizing your need to date more attractive girls, you get an azn haircut. This will be your haircut through-out college:
First you adopt the clean-cut fob attire:
Join an Asian frat to maximize fob immersion and minimize competition for chicks at parties:
Learn to over-accessorize, wear pink like a real man, and do manly things like blow bubbles. Also, look like G Dragon:
The proper facial expression for any situation must be learned, practiced, and perfected. This is the "I'm at a party wit some azn hoes":
This is the "I'm at home and camwhoring, but I am still fucking hot and cool." Also, this is T.O.P.:
"Blood on Halloween is sexy yo":
More images of yourself per photo, with black and white "artistic" editing and glow = win. Also be sure never to wear the same outfit more than once, gotta vary it up brah :
Once again, more of yourself per photo, more preppy outfit, and cutesy facial expressions with anime-style hearts:
---
Yes, these are all photos of one guy, my friend from high school. This is over 2 years of development from a passive-aggressive nerd to azn frat boy pimp extraordinaire. GL HF.
EDIT: BTW congratulations on accepting that you are a superficial corporate whore.
