Protoss player by heart, C+ ish on iccup.
Good PVP/PVT record and horrible PVZ record.
My ZVT and ZVZ are MAX D+/C-. However my ZVP is like C+.
I play with friends who are also around C/C+, and I can beat the C P players with my noob Z offrace most of the time, I just learned the 12 hatch/overpool openings into 3 hatch spire into 5 hatch hydra. All I have to do is scout actively to make sure they play standard or else react accordingly by adding sunks/lings. They can't beat me, unless I majorly fuck up by suiciding like 5 OLs or fail epically at storm dodging.
Other way around in PVZ, I try my hardest and still lose to some D+ friends.
So in conclusion, I put a lot of practice into PVZ, yet suck and lose to D+ players. I learn 1 standard BO for zerg (albeit a very good one, one that makes the game IMBA ZVP), and I start to rape C Protoss players left and right.
ZVP IMBA. QED.
Don't even argue with me.
Erm... typo in title. Irrefutable is what I meant. X_X

No.
I'm saying I've been playing PVZ for years, constantly TRYING to improve i.e. watching pro vods, practicing BOs in singleplayer, dissecting loss replays etc. Yet I suck hard and lose to D+ zergs while I beat C+ protosses and terrans.
Yet I've been practicing and playing a zerg BO for about 2 months, and somehow I can defeat C+ protosses with it. 1a2a3a hydras for the win.
That's HOW.

Damn, called out.
Anyway to the OP, ZvP is not imba... try learning a timing push that messes them up before they get their 5 hatches pumping. Obviously you are spending too much time on zvp and not training enough time pvz. And if you are C+ zvp you should know when your 5hatch is weak for a counter attack and then apply that to your pvz. Just because you are good at zvp and not pvz doesn't make the mu imba. Look at the pros. Learn a timing attack.

meh, PvZ can be extremely frustrating sometimes but your "reason" is just a personal statement of your own skill levels in various match-ups and that's a pretty stupid argument.

you lost because you are bad

In a general use situation your method will NOT work. I assume you tested it with something like this: public class Silly {
public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(imba("zerg", "protoss")); } public static String imba(String opponentrace, String userrace) { if((opponentrace == "zerg") && (userrace == "protoss")) return "GG"; else { return "1a2a3a"; } } }
A really smart compiler could recognise that the comparison doesnt need to actually be made. There is only one possible execution for this program. This program would actually be reduced down just printing the line "GG". If you instead wrote your program in the following way you will see your mistake.
public class Silly {
public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner k = new Scanner(System.in); String x = k.nextLine(); System.out.println(imba(x, "protoss")); } public static String imba(String opponentrace, String userrace) { if((opponentrace == "zerg") && (userrace == "protoss")) return "GG"; else { return "1a2a3a"; } } }
This second program takes in a string from the user and tries to match it to the string "zerg". Since you are comparing objects instead of the contents of those objects you will not get the intended behaviour.
edit: fixed spelling

To Misrah, Zerg is by far the easiest race to play endgame. It's impossible to not macro perfectly.

Oh wow, random people on iccup were bm.. Random people on iccup, that's the same group of people that insult you and call you a maphacker only because you beat them, same group of people that says gg but then doesnt leave and goes and builds pylons on the map only to waste your time. After Protoss progamers started figuring out Bisu's playstyle and emulating their builds towards FE to corsairs in mid to late 2007, Zerg players started complaining about how imba Protoss is. This complaining got REALLY intense in late 2008 during the era of the six protoss dragons, but then started dying down with the rise of swarm season.
Protoss used to complain more about the ZvP imbalance pre 2007 and especially in 2006 when Savior was owning Protosses left and right.
Someone's going to complain about some matchup being imbalanced at some point. That's just the way it is. The maps, the progamer trends, and whichever race has the best builds right now will determine which race receives the most complaints. And right now, Zergs are winning a lot, so naturally there are going to be more people complaining that Zerg are imba.
Give it time. If/when Protoss starts dominating again, there're gonna be a LOT of players complaining that Protoss is the imba race.
Oddly enough, I don't see very many people complaining that Terran is imba. I think it largely has to do with the mechanical requirements you need to play Terran compared to the other two races. Even if SK Terran is difficult to deal with, it requires a great deal of APM to pull off and without the sufficient hand speed the strategy just falls apart.
|
I tested this out my self personally. Ive played protoss for years and can only obtain B- at the peak.
I have never played zerg or terran competitively, but made a smurf account the previous season and only played zvp/tvz/zvt
got to C with a 60% win rate...(rounded)
interesting notes: my zvp was 80% win rate(rounded) my tvz was 80% winrate(rounded) my zvt was 33% winrate(rounded)
in conclusion: zerg has a matchup that is just as hard as pvz.
shut the hell up.

So, zvp is by far my worst mu, does that prove that zvp is imbalanced? Probably not, more that I'm just better at the other mu's. It's just something that'll happen when playing sc, for some reason, you'll be better at some mu's, and be worse and others, blaming it on mu balance is ridiculous. And saying "1a2a3a hydras for the win" completely nullifies everything with reason you've said...
|
Same story for me. My PvT and PvP are constantly over 70/80% winrate by the time I reach C-. My PvZ winrate is usually 0 or below 20.
My ZvAnything sucks dick. My ZvP is almost as consistent as my PvP. WTF.
