Why is this show still on the air? The comparison that's brought up most often these days is with South Park except most people under the age of 30 wouldn't make that comparison. It's not just that South Park has emasculated the Simpsons, along with Jon Stewart and Colbert to some degree, but the show has done it to itself. It's gone from edgy to politically correct, the plots are boring and ridiculous and it tries to teach more lessons than Beverly Hills 90210.
Normally I wouldn't take the time to complain since it's easier to just not watch the show, but doing a tribute to Ke$ha crosses the line for me. If terrorists had any sense, they'd go after Matt Groening's head for this, not Stone/Parker. It's a shame the money they throw away at it doesn't go to Futurama instead.
I'm sorry but I'm not in the least bit impressed by a multi-million dollar company making a really really really bad video for a song about being a whore.
I don't see what the problem is. I mean why is everyone whining when the animators want to do this once in a while? It's not like you'll see it in every intro.
i thought it was funny. But the bigger issue for me with The Simpsons in the past five years has been the ridiculous product placement... that and of course the less inventive, funny, and relevant writing. Hell, I remember some parents not letting their kids watch this show. I think it's time to call it quits, I watched just about every episode of the first 10 seasons, but these past 10 or so have just been bland and uninspired.

A slut sir, not a whore.
I'm sorry Jayme, I do apologize.

Firstly, it's satire for the same reason everything in Simpsons that's a pop culture reference is satire -- none of it is serious and it's mocking the premises of the song.
also I love Kesha because she's making a fortune by trolling the music industry. her music is obviously terrible but it's intentional and that amuses me to no end.
I just started watching Simpsons and some episodes are junk but I like the general direction the series is heading : P imo, the kesha tik tok is just another amazing intro

The "music" industry she's involved with sucks anyway, any station her shit is played on plays shit just as bad all day.

It's even better because Kesha actually CAN sing but she chooses not to.
Jibba how dare you compare Kesha to K-Pop...Kesha actually makes money
Well... I gotta say The Simpsons really does suck huge balls now a days. I used to absolutely love it more than anything else in the world. The old episodes are still great and all the characters make me laugh but these new ones are just so UGH. That intro was kind of dumb but that's not what's wrong with The Simspsons now a days... it's old and tired and is definitely not what it used to be.
so that is what tik-tok is. well, simpsons isn't a creative endeavor anymore as much as it is a franchise. it hasn't been a real venue for cutting-edge writing for years now. as a brand this was a great move though. they have blended two commercially successful entities to further perpetuate both as well as create memes for the kids.

You know the OP's opinion doesn't matter though because he thinks futurama is funny. Seriously wtf.. that show is funny like once then never again
What are you talking about?
Futurama is actually really funny, it just takes a little bit more effort to understand the references that Futurama makes. They tend to be a little bit more obscure but no less funny because of it.
i don't really watch the simps anyway, if its on ill watch but tbh SC2 is taking up like 98% of my time now so i haven't even watched the latest Southpark episodes yet let alone keep track of the simpsons
I don't think anyone will argue that Simpsons still occupies the relevant spot in pop culture that it once did, but they're still capable of cranking out the odd gem - which is more than you can say about other shows that have been around for even 5 years, let alone 10.
It's not Futurama, but if it were, then Futurama wouldn't be so special =[
i was really agreeing until you posted the part about money going to futurama instead. that has to be the fucking worst show to ever get aired of all time.

It's like watching Boxer play WC3 but worse.
OMG my non conformist satire show, which is totally conformist to watch, is doing things that are in relation to popular culture omfg totally unacceptable, imma look at softcore Asian girl porn on teamliquid blogs then listen to heavy metal you all fucking suck.

good troll tho
Nice try.
Futurama is great, they actually had characters that were interesting.
All the best writers and creative minds from the Simpsons went to Futurama. The Simpsons still squeezes out the occasional great show though like "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind ".
dude its just a satire, most likely related to Air Force doing Tik Tok parody found on the web.
but yea, as current (or past some years) Simpsons eps, they havent been good. I hate some of the eps that they go flash back and re-write the past. (like how Homer and marge first met when they were kids, and not in High school) why the fuck would they do that, this is not fucking Lost.
The problem with the Simpsons is that, like South Park says, they've already done almost everything. I can see how they Simpsons writers are feeling stretched out in terms of jokes and situations, it only makes sense that they target more specific lessons than the broader ones they were used to 10 years ago. I don't like the slapstick, and exaggerated stupidity (mostly from Homer) but I've learned to live with it. I don't really watch The Simpsons and expect anything great, it's just another show that's not that bad with lowered expectations.
Haven't watched the simpsons in like ten years, so I can't say too much about the overall quality. Really just wanted to poke my head in and remind everybody that new episodes of Futurama start in June. I'm not gonna lie, I was watching Futurama on Comedy Central when an ad came on for the new season, and I came. It was like one of those Xzibit memes, except awesome.
I get so excited when old episodes of Simpsons come on TV. They contain the greatest lines, compared to today where there is nothing you can quote at all.
Something like
- Baart! Where'd you get that shirt? - I dunno. Came out of the closet.
i thought simpsons was good until season 10, half of 11 was good (behind the simpsons episode etc) and then 12 had that grifting episode and homer learning the internet and some other T_T stuff

will probably never happen ever again.
Old episodes are amazing, here in Argentina one of the national TV channels plays the simpsons like 6 hours on saturdays and 8 hours on sundays, (from season 1 to like 15-20 dunno) its so good.
