im sure most of you have heard of nostradamus. so there's another prophet or clairvoyant by the of Vanga Baba . she's not as famous as nostradamus though some of her predictions are quite accurate. when i saw the news about the korean ship sinking crisis i decided to share this with you all.
her previous predictions: September 11 In 1989 she predicted the World Trade Center disaster in the following statement: "Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing." "Brethren" is believed to refer to the "Twin" Towers or the "Brothers". "Steel Birds" are obviously the jets. The part about the bush is believed to refer to President Bush.
Russian Disaster In 1980, she even predicted: "At the turn of the century, in August of 1999 or 2000, Kursk will be covered with water, and the whole world will be weeping over it." Kursk was the name of a large city in Russia, also the site of the largest tank battle of WWII. Nobody could understand how the city would be covered by water but the meaning was clear on August 12, 2000, when the Russian submarine, Kursk, named after the city, suffered an explosion and left the survivors for dead at the bottom of the ocean. I remember this news story well. The Russian government did nothing to try and rescue the survivors while the British and Norwegian rescue attempts failed. Baba Vanga was even able to predict the month and a 50% chance of the year this would happen.
Her future predictions: + Show Spoiler + 2010 – World War III. War will begin in November 2010 and end in October 2014. Will begin as usual, then nuclear will be used initially, and then chemical weapons.
2011 – As a result of the fallout of nuclear fallout in the northern hemisphere will not be any animals or vegetation. Then Muslims will wage war against chemical surviving Europeans.

2016 – Europe almost lonely (empty).
2018 – New China becomes a world power. Developing countries in turn operated from exploiters.

2043 – The world economy is thriving. In Europe, Muslims rule.
2046 – any bodies (organs) can be manufactured (cloning?). Replacing the bodies is becoming one of the best methods of treatment.

3805 – The war between humans for resources. More than half of people dying out.
3815 – The war is over.
3854 – The development of civilization virtually stops. People live flocks as beasts.

4302 – New cities are growing in the world. New Church encourages the development of new technology and science.
4302 – The development of science. Scientists discovered in the overall impact of all diseases in organism behavior.
4304 – Found a way to win any disease.

White people will finally become the minority and have no power?! WTF? Muslims and Chinese take over the world?!
Pretty cool immo

I'd love to see all her prophecies that didn't come true. If she made more that came true than didn't, I'd be convinced she had some kind of power.
|
She, and many others, just makes a million generic and cryptic guesses and when one finally turns out to be slightly relevant people who don't think about it label them a visionary. Same story different name.
|
she was born in the 31 January 1911 and died in 11 August 1996. so her predictions are quite new compare to nostradamus. nostradamus was 14 December or 21 December 1503[1] – 2 July 1566
|
She should have just written an epic sci fi novel. The future predictions are pretty awesome.
|
well she predicted her death day :S

Baba Vanga ("baba" means grandmother and Vanga is her first name) was a blind old woman that lived alone in a distant rural place in Bulgaria. I do not know if she made any "prophecies" but while she was alive there was a long queue (hundreds of people) each day in front of her door with all kinds of people - rich and poor, old and young, men and women - that wanted to meet her and talk to her. They all sought some kind of advice/help from her - with ill relatives, missing persons, personal tragedies. She tried to talk to every single one and often stayed up late into the night to meet the last person in the queue. It is widely believed amongst Bulgarian that she did possess a special power, mainly because, literary everyone in our small country personally knows someone she helped (there were, of course, people she could not help and she was quite frank about that as well). She was a special woman indeed and I respect her very much as I have been touched by her powers as well but I would be reluctant to say that she made any "prophecies" as Nostradamus did for the future of the World.
In conclusion I would like to say that whatever you might call her - a prophet, a clairvoyant, a shaman, a fake even - she was a real person like many of us and she had a lot of goodness in her heart and she shared that goodness with quite the number of people without even leaving her little old room.
|
Yea ive heard of her . Only thing i know that she was born in my country ( at that time that part belonged to Bulgaria )
Well we have few more months till November lets see if its true or just a bunch of bullshit

WW3 is possible. North-South Korea, Thailand, China, Iran, The Middle East. I don't know about the rest of the world but Asia is quite chaotic nowadays.

I hope no one actually believes this nonsense.

Creepy indeed, the guesses gives you hopes but the whole muslims in europe thingy is just..... + Show Spoiler +

2125 – Hungary will receive signals from space.
Whoa! :D
|
Here's my take on it:
If someone wasn't just making cryptic guesses in an attempt to coincidentally get one right, what's the point in saying it in such a cryptic way? If you could really predict the future, it seems like it would make a lot more sense to not obfuscate it with more symbolism than a bad victorian-era novel, and just say what you mean.

I get so mad when people insult my beliefs of the water breathing broccoli men living in the sun who have absolute control of mankind and the whole universe. How is that any worse than believing in a guy who makes water in to wine? A scamming drunkard I say!

I don't recall insulting anyone. I merely described the prophecies accurately and stated my hope that people didn't believe it.

She did not predict 9/11. She made a random statement that you retrofit to match 9/11. There is no way in hell anyone would be able to predict 9/11 based on that random combination of letters. Why didnt she do anything about it? This is pretty much the same as what happens when you hear a sound that is just garbage, then someone says "Sounds like someone saying "I`m retarded"" Then suddenly you hear it too. Humans want to see connections, even when there are one.
Here`s a link for people believing in doomsday prophecies: http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm Turns out there has been a "few" predictions concerning this.
"Russian disaster"? Come on! Be at least slightly precise, or give some kind of empirical evidence of any sort to back up your inane claims.
Predicting your own death is easy. 1) Either say it over and over again, your followers will only remember the one where you were right anyway. 2) Kill yourself.
This type of nonsense pisses me off.

If any one here has watched Richard Dawkins videos about delusions or whatever, you'd know that these types of predictions are just pure b.s
They say it and we somehow take it... flip it around a bit and say OMG, its true.
It's not true. YOU made it true.
It's the same concept with those guys who make contact with the dead and say.. "Does anyone know a John...?" lol

Because of course she probably predicted that humanity would "suddenly" loose all knowledge of how to make H2SO4 (sulphuric acid) and would need to harvest it from Venus' atmosphere ^^ Its obvious, why don't you believe... you bad person.

immortality discovered...then worlds ends 400yrs from then...

Probably not true at all but if you imagine it to be true while you read it it is pretty epic.
Though the end of the world (shouldn't it be end of the universe or end of life?) part gets kind of confusing. I guess she is suggesting 60% of the population leaves the universe and the other 40% of humanity cannot survive by itself for whatever reason. Or maybe "God" just destroys the universe... dunno.
Nice read nonetheless.

She was known for telling very cryptive responses, so all these clear statements in the opening are not hers for sure. So at the very best those things are someone's interpretations of things she might have or might have not said. Also I didn't know that she made any future profecies, actually people say that she disliked to talk about the future.
People used to go to her to ask for advice, for a lead to missing people, animals or objects, for possibilities to heal illnesses. There really were hundreds of people waiting to see her every day for the last decades of her life. The vast majority of people who met her reported that she indeed was able to help them.
You should consider that Vanga was a very uneducated person and was also illiterate. She also became blind when she was 16. Her knowledge about the world (politics, events, news) was very limited and is highly unlikely that she would come up with good fictional stories or that she could think of logical but empty response that many so-called prophets use.
Consider also that there was a line of hundreds of people in front of her house waiting to ask her about their problems for several decades. If she really gave only bullshit and/or wrong responses probably people would have stopped going to her at some point.
If you are interested here are a few anecdotes: + Show Spoiler + 1. My uncle was an alcoholic and beat his wife. So my mother went to see Vanga. She believed that my uncle was sick and needed treatment so she wanted to ask Vanga what they could do to change my uncle. There were so many people waiting for Vanga that my mother waited for over 20 hours until it was her turn to go and see the old woman (my mother actually slept for one night in front of the house). Upon entering the room with Vanga, my mother explained the situation briefly and asked what she could do for my uncle. Vanga's response was just a short: "What you want to do with him. He is just like that. He doesn't like any of you." Naturally, my mother was pissed about the response. She thought that Vanga was a charlatan. Now about twenty years later, my mother believes that Vanga's words very completely correct. My uncle never gave up the alcohol, despite having severe liver and kidney problems. He continously used to beat my aunt until she finally divorced him and moved away. Then he continued with beating my grandmother. My grandmother was very supportive and always believed that he was just sick and could be healed. She tried to approach him and gave him money even though he used to beat her. He was in the psychiatry several times, but never changed. He has often been involved in fights throughout his whole life and has always been a complete asshole. And all of this despite that he actually had everything - he was a doctor, had a wife and a child, had a good income and good savings - but eventually lost everything. Just like Vanga said - he is just evil.
2. A teacher of my mother used to live in the same town as Vanga when she was young. The students weren't very keen on studying so they tried to distract the lessons by asking the teacher about Vanga who gladly told them stories about her. She said that before Vanga was famous in the whole country, she was locally known for her ability to help people. People would often go to Vanga to ask her about animals that have ran away and she could nearly always tell them where to find the missing animals. Also the teacher's mother had lost a ring and Vanga told her to look for it in a certain place in her garden where she was able to find it.
3. A friend of my mother went with her family to see Vanga in order to ask about her brother who has gone missing while on duty. Vanga's response was something along the line: "Ohh, I see very bad things. Go away! Don't ask about him again!"
I personally tend not to believe any supernatural events/people/explanations since I am inclined to approach everything in a rational manner. It still makes me think that there might be some merit to all the stories that surround Vanga, since people seeked her advice for several decades. She was also tested by scientists in Russia and Japan who tried to explain why Vanga could tell the things she did (not if but why!). However, I never heard that she actually made any prophecies about the future. So I do not believe that the stuff in the OP is from her. But if this stuff is indeed said by Vanga I might consider dropping of from college till the end of the year and live my life to the fullest just in case...
|
In the year of the red coyote, the large man will unite the three kingdoms of stickiness, and much fun will be had.
Look, I'm a prophet.
Edit: Also, she says nothing about how the world is going to end in 2012, so she is obviously a hack.
|
According to the wiki article on her she predicted these events:
"She is said to have foretold the break-up of the Soviet Union, the Chernobyl disaster, Boris Yeltsin's electoral victory, the date of Stalin's death, the sinking of the Russian submarine Kursk, the September 11 attacks and Topalov's victory in the world chess tournament"
|
Another thing, from looking at internet posts about her, it seems that she predicted 4 assassination attempts in 2008, and when that didn't happen everyone changed her predictions to 2009, and when that didn't happen changed it to 2010, and now they seem to have swept them under the rug entirely and are just focusing on the rest of her predictions. So, uh, yeah, what's up with that?
2008 - Assassination attempts on four heads of states. Conflict in Indonesia. That becomes one of the causes for the start of WWIII. from a post in 2008. Odd how the op left this prediction out.

I think at some point she predicted that a lot gold was going to be found on the territory of Bulgaria. Now, as a bulgarian I'm considering myself a supporter of her doing but stilll...
I must say, I do believe in supernatural stuff, cause when I was 10 or so, I've met another famous nanny prophet. She told me I was going to get really sick... and about 4 months after that I got indeed sick, I couldnt go to school for 5 months, it was really serious but eventually I got over it.

I feel the need to bump to thread because of this prediction:
2010 – World War III. War will begin in November 2010 and end in October 2014. Will begin as usual, then nuclear will be used initially, and then chemical weapons.
I am not saying that I believe the conflict between North and South Korea will cause WW3, but it is interesting how crazy the timing is.
|
Every time one of her predictions passes without happening, her followers either bury it or push it back. I wouldn't be surprised if this ww3 prediction was (like her head of state assasination thing i mentioned above) proved wrong and pushed back several times before.

2010 - The Savior returns to destroy everyone, for the last time. The Ultimate Weapon falls into the hands of a ruthless Tyrant. Savior returned to destroy every fanboy's dreams.
Flash lost to Jaedong but then he raped Jaedong twice in a row after that so I dunnos. Maybe it means Jaedong will replace Lomo with Flash as his intimate manfriend.

Not to say that I really believe in the predictions or in an upcoming world war, but a large-scale war may be attributed by future historians to this specific event in the Korean conflict.
I don't really see why the possibility of being psychic is so unbelievable either. A thousand years ago people would probably think you were an idiot if you explained how a radio works to them. But I also think that if you're psychic, you can take scientific tests and prove you are, or else it's bullshit.

Your comparision of a radio a thousand years ago is equivalent to a psychic who can actually demonstrate their claimed ability (and that we cannot explain the ability). But there has never been such a case. Not a single psychic has been able to take scientific test and pass. This is why we do not believe in psychics, because experience tells us that they do not exist.
