:D lol i wonder how much fanboy hate i can see in the article Awhile back There was a problem with G84 and 86's having to deal with the cooling used on laptops and a few defects nvidia had in them, they would tend to overheat this was later settled with nvidia basically buying upt he whole stock of them and replacing them costing them millions. I think this was late 2008 or something. Kind of like a recall but most oem's like dell and lavino didn't send out a recall notice it's just they extended your warranty by like a year and would replace your board if it turns out you had a bad gpu. They will fail earlier then expected some a few months some in a like a year it's just a matter of how much they are used. Personally i run a copper mod on my laptop(which was a bitch i have a dell 1420 getting to the gpu required me to take apart the whole thing) brought down my temps under load by about 20c and idle by like 10c The problem is these cards are defective and run hot, and companies like dell used thermal pads instead of paste or anything of quality to cheapy cool them. http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/268081-dell-xps-m1330-nvidia-geforce-8400m-gs-copper-mod.html

He has cleaned it up and took it in for repair, but the couldn't find anything wrong with the fan or anything. Another friend of mine has a different laptop with a G86 graphics card, and it was overheating as well. He did some researched and found a huge number of problems with certain Nvidia cards. It's hard to now how entirely accurate the report is, but it was relavent to my friends. I hope it will help some of you. I have a Studio XPS 16 and it overheats like no other. I can't play a single game on it without the bottom getting to uncomfortably hot temperatures, which means I always have to have my laptop on a cooling pad.
