Massive box, almost as big as the 5850 box.
^ Some guest passes to play the game, dunno if its a trail or something. Got two for SC2 and two for WoW.
^ Sound track album.
USB stick. Pretty sweet, one of the reason I bought the CE.

that's the idea behind the design anyway. Blizzard actually put a mini starcraft one on the USB stick. pretty handy. There is also a art book and a comic in the box as well. If you want the guest pass, pm me so I can send you the code. First come first serve.

Yawns because it's not exciting/new or because you find it too easy? Both. The missions are pretty dumb to be honest but I guess they can't do much with RTS. I'm really just playing for the cut scenes, the mission pretty much have just one way to win and you can figure that out 2 mins in.

"If you add a retail key to a battle.net account, it gives you the option to download the client from their website. It is usually very fast, however it will be ~12gb. It works the same way with any other blizzard game, if it is added to your battle.net account then you can download it anywhere as long as you log in"

Add on the artbook and the soundtrack and you're definitely up to $40. And that's not even everything that's given.

Add on the artbook and the soundtrack and you're definitely up to $40. And that's not even everything that's given. I'm talking about monetary cost to the company itself... You can find retail 2GB sticks for $6-7 online. Loading SC/BW obviously costs nothing. The soundtrack is a CD, costing pennies I'm sure. The cost of having the book printed is probably somewhat minimal too, although I'm not sure what. The other stuff doesn't have any cost to the company itself (trial versions, special avatars, etc.) I think what he was trying to say, is it's overpriced compared to what you're physically getting. No one expects Blizzard to sell items at cost obviously, but $99 is a steep price tag for what you're actually getting (although I think obviously that the $59.99 for the game itself is far, far overpriced, but that seems to be a standard fare nowadays). Back in my day, you could get a full NES game for $5-10 tops... /end old man rant

I distinctly remember new NES games going for $40, pops! Yea Nintendo isn't a good example. Do you remember the price of the N64 games ??? That was soooooo expensive ( well at least in France, i don't know about the US ) ~60-80 euros in the late 90's damn that was harsh. On the other hand PS games were around ~ 40 euros max.

SC+BW do in fact cost money ($20), even if they're easy to pirate. Artwork and music definitely cost money as well, and the artists and composers/performers definitely deserve money for all of the work they put into it, so ignoring that is essentially theft.

Artwork and music definitely cost money as well, and the artists and composers/performers definitely deserve money for all of the work they put into it, so ignoring that is essentially theft. I full well understand the concept of intellectual property -_- Although your example is a bit bad IMO - citing SC/BW when many of the people who originally worked on it don't even work for Blizzard anymore; they'll never see a dime. But to the point at hand; the cost of the physical items are virtually non-existant. $59.99 for a couple CD's or DVD and some cardboard? We all know the price is in the IP. That doesn't mean the IP portion of it can't be overpriced either, you know. As for the NES prices - Yeah, ok, so my $5-10 estimate might have been for the Toys-R-Us bargin bins ^_^, but I remember new games actually going in the $19.99 - 29.99 range. I don't think I had ever paid more than that for an NES game (early/mid 90's at the latest).
