I'm not a picky eater I eat everything, yet I have a very discerning palate. I cannot consume the same shit two meals in a row. My love of food has been dying on me lately, So I switched shit up and got the kick of flavor I haven't had in a while and I just wanted to share with u guys the fucking phenomenal taste. I'ma take a wild guess and assume you guys are mostly students.
On a budget? Want to eat on the healthy side? No time?
I dunno what you guys eat but I'd like to humbly recommend a dish for you to try this week. Just try it once at least. Why? Cuz it's my fucking blog. AANNNDD... I would never recommend u guys anything that tastes like shit. Only the finest of meals for TL.
Cuz it tastes fucking awesome, costs like nothing to make, easy as shit to make as long as you can cook bacon, and u get ur veggies/protein/carb it's not exactly the healthiest thing in the world but way better than processed shit right? Come on it has fucking bacon in it
1. Cook some bacon 2. Wash lettuce/tomatoes and slice em up real nice 3. Get some mayo or whatever condiment and apply on two slices of bread 4. Add the cooked bacon and tomatoes/lettuce 5. You are ready to have a party in your mouf *Trying different BLT variations is a must*
Now. . . POST YOUR VARIATIONS OR SHARE YOUR OWN CREATIONS
That picture can hardly be considered healthy. For instance, I got a BLT the other day at subway -- they gave me three strips of bacon in a footlong. The taste was still there, so I'd recommend you use less bacon and more vegetables to get an optimal nutritious meal. Because no matter how much you like bacon, it's just not that great for you.
"u get ur veggies/protein/carb it's not exactly the healthiest thing in the world but way better than processed shit right? Come on it has fucking bacon in it"
[T/N: You get a balance of macronutrients, even though it may not be healthy it is superior to processed foods that many students will opt for.]
iceberg lettuce is inferior to "real" vegetables (dark leaf lettuce or spinach is better). tomatoes are OK, although there's tomato sauce everywhere. bacon is horrible for you.
A tasty sandwich, but very very unhealthy and a questionable calorie source (it's all in the bacon fat...)
This one time, I made a BBB sandwich. You heard me. I had to stop halfway and pass it on to a friend before my heart exploded.
I hate bacon that has all the grease dropping off it though >.> I always get the low fat bacon to minimize it. Doesn't make it that much healthier but w/e BLT's rock :D
I like BLTs. I prefer them without tomatos, so I guess I like BLs. How can you call bacon unprocessed, isn't it a preserved meat by definition? Doesn't that make it at least somewhat processed?

So true so true.
Yup, if you can make your own or spice it up with some stuff (for example, mayo + honey mustard) it can taste very very good. It's one of the only places where you can actually customize the sandwich, because tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon are pretty standard. The bread is best as normal whitebread, because if you get some weird crap like ciabatta or a sub, it's just not the same...

make your own bread, cure your own bacon, grow your own lettuce and tomato. pretty sick when you think about it
that sounds awesome... i guess you don't have to grow wheat or raise a pig though. actually there really is a lot of effort that goes into creating a blt. makes you really appreciate it as a pinnacle of our civilization

In order to create a BLT, you must first create the Universe.

Yes.
I don't even like ranch in most contexts, but when I have bacon in my sandwich the tastes compliment each other so nicely.

Bacon is good but you want to be able to taste the other awesome parts of the sandwich as well
- 2 Slices of bread, put bacon and cheese on one and toast/grill it until the cheese goes nice and gooey. - Spread Ranch or Mayo on the other toasted slice of bread. - Salt and Pepper if you choose! - Put lettuce and tomato on the cheese and bacony slice then close it up. - Enjoy delicious toasted BLTC
trim the rind off the bacon before you cook it most of the fat comes off in the cooking process anyway the worst part about bacon is the sodium nitrate and other preservatives they put into it nowdays
was watching this youtube video of an american woman making sandwiches apparently in the US you can buy frozen pre cooked bacon that you just reheat in the microwave?? bizarre-o

You can cook bacon in a microwave, it works. As long as its not slab bacon or whatnot.
How the fuck can you not like bacon? that seriously blows my mind.
BLTs are pretty awesome but the only time I've ever had heartburn was after eating 3 of them in a row one day when my mom picked tomatoes from her garden. Seriously one of the most painful things in my life, it was awful. Kind of worth it though, good sandwiches.
