Anyway, I'm at 3rd place in bronze league and have been for the last 16 games. Here's how it's been going:
Day: Monday, November 1st (realized I didn't do this one) Number of Ladder Games (wins/total): 3/4 (it was late and I ragequitted) Starting Rank: 6 Ending Rank: 6 Highest Rank: 6 Lowest Rank: 6
So, since I started this project on Oct 15, I have played: 108 1v1 League games 56 of which I have won
I think that's more than the number of 1v1 games I've ever played in any video game combined (besides SC2, I mean).
I won't be getting to diamond anytime soon - I can tell you that. However, I will keep laddering and keep writing until I do. Maybe in a few months - we'll see.
Lessons from the past couple days: - People are cheesy. I had a streak where I was proxy gate zealot rushed, then proxy gate zealot rushed again, then 6pooled, then bunker rushed. Moral: always check outside the base for proxy buildings and be quicker with pulling SCVs off the production line to help. - Mass void rays suck, and by "suck" I mean "are amazing vs. Terran." Once it gets to the mass void ray point, it's basically over. Moral: don't let it get to that point.
My friend Kaiz has been encouraging me to explore using ghosts against Protoss and Zerg. I think I will try that, although the early cloaked banshee harass has been very fruitful for me up to now and I'm not sure where to fit in the ghost academy.
Time for VODs! Thanks again to X for casting my nooby replays!
This is me vs. a kind of cranky Protoss named Leeches. The game is from Oct. 26th, and I've learned a lot since then, so I'd like to think that I would play him better now (not a spoiler!).
I think X is a pretty terrific caster, and if you like him as well, please head over to YouTube and subscribe to his channel: davidr64yt. He also does Minecraft!
That's all for tonight. Off to MLG Dallas tomorrow!
Yeah, but it's also a really popular name for all kinds of things: - a women's nutritional bar - a sleep aid - a talking cat in Sailor Moon - and a lot more which I can't think of right now.
I used to manage an MMORPG community and there were a bunch of luna-something type names and they were almost all girls.
Also, unless I'm very much mistaken, maps are gender-neutral.

Here's one: it's the latin word for moon. (Which, in Greek, and Roman mythology, is female...)

Yeah, that too! I didn't say that one because I felt like it was a given/archaic, but definitely add it to the list!
if luna were an sc2 map zergs would complain about the lack of gas and narrow mineral only, protoss would complain about not being able to pylon in the middle and terrans would complain about being flanked too hard.
also two xelnaga towers in the middle would make scouting unit movement ridiculously easy.
Luna was where the whole "4 gas turtle to ultra zerg" was invented, because back in luna days, 4 gas was like Super Saiyan before they invented the other levels.

http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/Catreina 1500 diamond, too, not too great but better than me anyway. Though she does have some quite manly coughs sometimes, maybe her voice-change software just can't handle that

High level TvP is also centered on Barracks play, so every time you look at your minerals, imagine how many Barracks that's worth.
Good job and good luck. 100 really is a lot of games and definitely something to be proud of.
Thank you - I'm pretty stoked about breaking 100 games. I usually do hotkey my orbital command - not sure why I didn't in this replay - but I'll keep a closer eye on it in the future. I'm getting better in general about using hotkeys and generally keeping resources low after the early game, so I guess this means I'm on the right track! Thanks for the advice ^^.
Nice job... I haven't looked at your replays but you seem pretty serious about it. There seem to be an influx of girl gamers to TL lately... a good sign that the sport is growing beyond the stereotype.

I actually started to remake this map and there are even more factors that you are not thinking of. Search for it on US server.

I also watched replay and the Youtube video. You need to make a lot more scvs..... You probably only produce them 1/3 of the time, and you seem to stop producing them whenever you're around 25 workers.....
Get used to spamming "5s" (or whatever hotkey you use for your orbital command), and do it often. Even if you queue up workers, it's far better for you to be doing that than have your CCs idle. Do this until you have 3-4 bases with good saturation, because you'll have ~80 workers that way. That's about as much as you need.
Seriously, making lots of workers is the main difference between most people in Diamond, and most people in the lower leagues..... You know how to keep your money low, and you do a pretty good job with your army control and multitask, you just need to be able to make more shit. And you need to make more workers to be able to have the income to make more shit.

I don't really play league games anymore, and when I do and play another girl, it's kinda like whatever for me. o-o I'm playing the game for the game, not for the people who play, to be honest, haha. /shrug

When I first read it I thought it was a guys name, but I guess the more you think about it the more girly it seems.. x_X
Sure, different strokes for different folks, but I get super excited about finding other girls in StarCraft. Gaming is a very social experience for me these days and to me it completely matters who I'm playing against or with unless it's just trying to get my skill level up, which is fun in and of itself but not the ultimate payoff.
