I smiled when I saw you reading your letter in the documentary, nice work! It's not easy to read something to your idol, and you pulled it off successfully. I'm glad that Boxer has responded to your heartfelt letter; he sounded like he really liked it and appreciated your kind words to him. I hope you get to meet him in the future again! (P.S. I am insanely jealous of you, you're such a lucky girl~ ><)
|
That's amazing. He seemed quite touched by it.
|
Peanut thats so cool you were in that, and boxer talked about you. Thats pretty much the coolest thing that can happen to a fan ^^
|
Yeah this basically made my life. Someday we'll have multimedia tombstones and I want this to play on mine over and over.
|
That's really touching. Meeting your idol is a once in a lifetime experience and having them respond is priceless + Show Spoiler +why did Boxer said you were terrible in school???
|
I think he actually meant that he was terrible in school, not me.

He almost looked like he was gonna cry when he talked about you... Well then again so did you. But. I'm so jealous. :3

FUCKING
JEALOUS.
Grats. How many people get to be on Korean TV and have an obscure celebrity thank them personally? Not many. That's really awesome. Very heartwarming.
|
Why is this not front-page?
|
I'm super Jelly D: While watching I was thinking: "I bet she is going to watch this and be so happy" :D

The main video page should be front-paged.

Your letter really made an impression on him. I'm glad you made this blog, your interaction with him was quite heartwarming indeed.
|
I've been on Korean TV a couple times before, I guess, since you can see me briefly in audience footage from I think the MSL back in summer 2008. I'm sure that most people watching in Korea will cringe at my terrible pronunciation, but that can't be helped ^^;;
|
Hahaha very nice ^_^ I bet you showed all your friends and not just tl huh? I would be wicked excited to
|
oh my fucking god that is so awesome :3
Any why isn't this front paged yet!

I'm really happy for you, peanut. It's not everyday when someone gets a positive reaction from a pro-gamer to a letter of appreciation (especially in a documentary-style thing). =D

I posted it on facebook, twitter, quora, google buzz, two different google chat statuses, aim status, skype status, a private email list, and IM'd it to various people ... I can't wait to get home and spread the news even more :D

I don't post often, but I've just watched this a dozen times and I choked up every time. Congrats! I can't imagine how you must react when you watch it over and over again.

That's a really great compliment. You can't just make shit like that up.

Hey, as one of the few people around here who actually met Boxer IRL as well I can say it brought back great memories.
I told him the same thing, I was from America, I'm a korean-american and part of the reason I was here was to just meet him and get his autograph. It was right before the Tuscon team league and players were getting drinks so they weren't allowed to meet with fans but I just jumped in there and got to talk to him. It's in my korea blogs somewhere.
Your korean was pretty good, I remember you saying you aren't fluent in Korean but it was cute!
There's like 4 people I wanted to meet before I died and Boxer was one of them. Thanks for sharing!
|
All these brag blogs recently
Grats though! :D

That was adorable, on both sides of the exchange =)

Man, it must be absolutely amazing to hear those words coming from BoxeR in response to your letter. I bet he won his match in the ro32 at the very least partially because he did want to disappoint such an inspired fan. :D
Did you tell your mom about this, since, if i recall correctly, she was a bit weird about helping you with the pronunciation before you went to Blizzcon?

LOL you know it's bad when even a non-Korean can tell your Korean's bad =P
(don't worry, it happens to me ALL the time to the point I dont' even order in Korean in restaurants anymore =P)
|
Well, however good or bad my Korean may be, I still try to use it any chance I get, which of course leads to amazing opportunities like this one! ^^
|
I'm jealous because you had this unique opportunity which I'll probably never have.
But on the other hand - I'm so f***ing happy for you You better be proud for being mentioned by him And thanks for your part in the documentary - it brought a tear to my eye (a real man *cough* would never admit crying because of such a mundane thing)
|
I'm turning green with jealousy. But congratz dude
|
Thats really awesome, you not only gave him and you a special moment, but all the SC community.
I got teary seeing it, your passion touches me!
|
|
Awesome, I'm happy the documentary can bring a lot of joy to the community

your attempting to sound out the korean off that paper really reminds me of when i'm 3 bottles of whiskey deep attempting to rap some rap song i don't know the lyrics to
no offense
|
omg omg omg spotlight this!!!
|
Grats!
Peanut with the win. ^_^
|

Wow, I'm so happy for you, I remember idolizing him back when I was a kid making the switch to terran from zerg, because boxer played that race.
I hope boxer stays strong, his time in sc2 will come.
Boxers response was very sincere, and reminds me of why he was my Sc1 idol. Which was very nice to revisit, it makes Sc2 shine in a different light to me. Your video blog was very touching, I'm Canadian myself and can't figure out how Koreans can stay so proud of there leader. Your blog helped me understand and have a different insight on this. It taught me that the pride comes from the people, regardless of who is in power.
Sharing your personal experience was very empowering and touching. I wish the best to you.
