And quirinus do you mean they have these maps masquerading as real ladder maps and are able to actually host them in One on One mode?

Ah, so this is probably why no one wanted to play on La Mancha with me, aside from it being T favored .

Yes, the internal map name (the one you see when in lobby) is the same as the iccup map, but the file name (the one you see when you browse the maps) can be different.
I think iCCup in One on One lets you only create the maps that have the name same as some map from the current map pool. So any map that has an internal name same as some map from the map pool can be created, even if it really isn't that map or is rigged.
People edit the map, leave the same internal name, so now it's masquerading as the non-rigged map; they change the file name so you have to download it again.
Anyway, I came into contact with the rigged maps trough cws, there's plenty of shady people using those maps. We got like one whole clan banned from BWCL for that.
The only problem is, having posted about this, it's likely to draw attention to it and more people might start rigging the maps. T_T

It seems like it would be a huge pain to have to leave half your games. If the name of the file is different you have to DL it again. So when people put spaces in front of Python (or any map for that matter) so it appears first in the list you are gonna have to wait for the DL. At least, I think that's how it works. It's not like every time you DL a map you are playing against a cheater...
Ah, I see. Didn't think of that. But better safe than sorry. ;P
I've found maps with file names of "fake Longinus" and many more...

Finally, a proper counter to the Shadow Rush.
I'm really surprised people are still doing this, especially in competition. I really don't get the point of hacking bw in 2011.

Quoting this because it is correct. Any change to the file name (such as th example of putting a space at the front for it to appear at the top of your folder) will require the map to be downloaded again.

Sorry for the bump but i just have two questions:
What if the person dled the map from a real map rigger but didnt know the map was rigged and kept on hosting that map and gave it to other ppl by mistake and ppl that dled it from him were just like him in not knowing the map was rigged. Then everyone will have a rigged map even though they themselves aren;'t map riggers. Also like somebody mentioned earlier, they could just renamed the map name to something differnt that makes players dl the map.
It's annoying having to leave every game because I dl the map and have a chance that the map could be rigged -_-

Just so everyone knows some maps (new empire of the sun) have a bug where you can't play it because the scenario name is too long and you have to shorten it (i downloaded it straight from the kespa website). I notice a lot of people leaving when I host this map because I had to shorten the title length.

Funny, this only happened to me once in all the years playing ICCUP. Guy had a map with stacked minerals so multiple workers could seemingly mine 1 mineral patch at the same time.

Alternative solution in 3 very easy steps:
1- Host your own games. 2- ??? 3- Profit
You won't play a single game on a rigged map as long as you don't use them.
