Of course I will always prioritize the pro players that I like when deciding when to watch streams. They are fun to watch and there is always a lot to learn in watching them. But when there isn't anyone I'm particularly interested in streaming, I'll click that [Show non-featured] tab and randomly open streams.
I find that I am far more interested in watching silver-platinum players than the random masters player. I mean really, if I wanted to watch skilled play, I'd watch one of the random featured streams of a player that isn't very interactive or interesting. In my eyes, there's really nothing some random masters level stream has to offer me, simply because they are offering an inferior free product.
But when you open a gold level player's stream, it's almost like watching "When Cheese Fails" but game after game. Maybe it's a bit condescending, but it's fun to watch a lower level player try to figure out the game, especially because there is way more ridiculous stuff and bm happening there than at the top. I always wonder if I should give advice or if that would be too rude of me. It's not like I'm a great player either, only in Diamond, but seeing as how I have been constantly improving every season despite not playing very much, I like to think that it's due to me having a good understanding and constant exposure to the game.
I only really will watch a low level stream for maybe a couple games at a time, and it can be frustrating to watch a super turtley game where nothing happens, but the commentary a silver player gives on his game is pretty amusing. Again, I think it's kind of wrapped in condescending entertainment, but at least I understand and will admit to that.

I was diamond last season and after a blunder of judgement ( I'll quit all my zvzs and see what happens!) I've requalified into platinum. I'll be honest. It's sucked the life out of me. Half my opponents are not very good and I don't feel satisfaction in winning. The other half are either way too close to beating me, beat me or humiliate me. This in turn makes me play less compounding my terribad.
Ask anyone that's been in a skype call with me while I play and you'll hear the same thing. My favorite phrase is oh shit and okay i'm probably dead.
I imagine I'm like a slightly upgraded version of exactly what you're referring to.
And I can imagine how funny it would be in small doses. (Not like my bw, that's like a train hitting a puppy orphanage )

When i want to watch SC2 streams i will only watch Bronze - Silver or High masters - GM. Never anything inbetween, i can get as much enjoyment out of both, that and im terrible so its fun to watch people at my own level rather then always watching pros.

haha, you're the first probe, you can do it!
i've played on a friend's fresh account for a bit with less than 10 games recorded and was surprised when i qualified platinum, even more surprised that i recorded an early loss. i had honestly rated myself at high pt. masters or very low GM despite not playing very much or having very few games in 1v1 in general. this amount of rooted disappointment eventually piled up when i was again, surprised with the playing level of some platinum and diamond players i was matched up against, and i simply lost whenever there was too much pressure put on me.
some of the things said to me i would never reply to before, but now i'm much more easily accepting of my actual play level, much more prone to tilting in my own way haha, and more motivated to play like i'd like to actually.
i like being that hidden ladder monster actually, haha... cept i actually have to work my way up again T_T. just kidding though, gl probe1, i'll be your #1 fan if you hit masters next season : )

Next you see someone on the street, try shouting really loud. If they run away, you know you're the Dragonborn.
From there on, feel free to pillage/steal/assassinate/murder/smith/enchant/alchemy/cast fireballs/summon zombies/resurrect stuff.

Seeing Kiantes stream on reminded me of this blog. (j/k don't hit me). Boy we did a number on the topic of this. My bad.
I honestly think that what you're doing Emporio isn't all that bad. I mean yeah you aren't tuning in for the noblest of intentions but lower level players get like, no viewers. It's good that they feel special once and a while and know someone is watching. It could be the one thing that encourages them to improve.
You could be incidentally giving them hope that they are worth watching and if you add a tip onto that once in a great while then they're doing a great job for someone.
