Tonight I went on a culinary adventure. I bought a packet of 얼초 from Daiso (sort of like a dollar store.) the other day without knowing they were DIY chocolates. TBH I had way too much fun making these despite not being very well.
I made a video of my amazing(ly lazy and sweary) foray into the world of cooking. (I can actually cook, but I love random stuff like this.)
(I am so tired it came out as Van Goff not Van Gogh -_-; )
I don't think we ever did this or something similar at my home, not even when I or my siblings were younger.
We make confectionery every year though, at christmas ^^ (that will be when I visit them - making confectionery without me is like saying they want a bad christmas kekek)
Haha, looking at you making these makes me want to make some chocolate rats on a stick. It also makes me crave chocolate. Had to substitute it with a cup of cocoa.
Torenhire, it's straight from nanny Ogg's cook book. I can give you the recipe if you want. It's a great recipe to have on hand for when you get to make desserts for anyone, trust me.
Then you need to tap the ever-loving-shit out of it? lol I love your accent ^_^
I haven't seen any of these DIY treats at Daiso, maybe they don't sell them in Australia (or maybe I need to head into the one located in the City. I always end up walking out the store with stuff I don't really need and it's amazing how quickly you spend money there. It's the only place I know that sells Choco banana biscuits though :D

Bulgarians are weird!
but sure, maybe I'll make some this christmastime! :p

I LOVE discworld. Still need to buy that cookbook sometime. Does it have the secret recipie for her booze?
Mmmm sounds like I should try to make some here at my house...doesn't seem too hard...just have to make use of some of those lovely cupcake papers and tape plus melting down some chocolate.........hmmm......................................

Now I feel like something chocolatey T_T
I didn't know you guys have Daiso too. It's so addictive :S Those biscuits sound good. I'm lucky enough to have 2 Daisos close to where I live plus one on the way home. My wallet doesn't appreciate it much though.

*Nods* The prices vary between 1000+ depending upon what items you're buying. I love how many bargains I can find. It reminds me of shopping at those types of places back in the UK. It's also so useful for buying supplies for art classes at work.

Definitely try it. I love making my own chocolates around White Day/Valentines Day here. The local gift mart always stocks loads of different supplies (moulds, toppings, decorative paper and weird flavors of cooking chocolate.) It's so quick, but the results can look so nice.
lol, seems like everyone is focusing on your thumb instead! But yeah, i have always been amazed about the candy in Korea and Japan, where you basically "make" the candy yourself. We don't have that stuff in Finland at all, nothing even close.

:/ Yeah, that isn't really very fun, but whatever. My friend sent me some DIY candy from Japan too where you had to use chopsticks to fluff it up so it resembled candy floss ^_^

Yeah we do, there's two that I know of. According to some of your replies though it seems the Daiso you know has varied prices, everything here is $2.80. Yeah my wallet doesn't appreciate it much either when I go in there and fill up my little hand basket, somethings aren't worth the $2.80 though... If you ever spot a packet of choco nana biscuits you have to get some, just opening the box and having that enticing chocolate banana aroma makes you want to eat it all in one go ^_^ The best purchase I've made at Daiso is a pot that I use to make noodles, it's aluminum I think? I don't know but it's really good and heats up quickly. Think it might be time to take another trip haha

Why would you even spend time on making those when you can already buy them right from the shelves? =3?
Because they're different from the type you can buy in the CVS here. Also because I like cooking/doing creative things :/
SNM is too lazy to do DIY stuff... for eating.
DIY models? I'm always in for such things =3... until I screw up and realize that there are no extra pieces =/
I'm also a model maker funnily enough. I'm only at the level of doing snap-together/light sanding and painted kits, but I've completed about six or seven MG Figurerise Kamen Rider kits.
