It's monday. You know mondays, right? Mondays suck. But they rarely suck like this one today, the monday after the HomeStory Cup V. It's not so much the cleaning duty, that is due today, or the hangover from last night, but much rather the mere comprehension, that it is over.
But we shouldn't be sad! After all, the HomeStory Cup V bestowed on us many great memories, which will never fade. All the fun we had with the players and the casters, the great matches, all of that will live on in our hearts. There is no reason to be sad. The next HomeStory Cup will come and it will even better than the last one, promised!
For now, though, we should look back on all the events, that happened in the course of these 4 days. It's of course too much to summarize them all here. So many great stories, so many inside jokes. There is now way to preserve the big picture and the feelings this cup invoked, with a summary. Watch the Vods on Twitch, if you missed the event or else you surely miss out!
What we can do, on the other hand, is to provide you with the mere results. Those results do not in any way reflect the essence of the HomeStory Cup and everything related to it, but in the end, it is just a Starcraft 2 tournament at heart. 32 players from all around the world contended in the HSC V, among them great names like MC or Mvp. The winner is not a top level Korean, though, and barely had any great results to show off before this event. But he amazed us with extraordinary gameplay and swept over the players like an unyielding wave, crushing the Korean talent YongHwa in the finals with 4-1. It is no other than Nerchio, the Polish Zerg player. He is our victor and takes home 10,000$. Congratulations, Nerchio! The third place goes to MC, who failed to become the first two time champion of the HSC... for now!
The matches themselves were so good, that I'd recommend everyone to watch the Vods, but we all know that this is just one of the many reasons to watch them.
