And we got married!
I read a lot of girl blogs and typically a lot of them are by self-described nice guys and it doesn't work out; either the girl just wants to be friends, or they get rejected, or they can't figure out how to approach women. My wife is the only girl I have ever really dated (I dated in high school, but I really don't count that because it was superficial) and before we met I had very little experience with women. I could talk to women but I was self-conscious, I was a homebody and just played video games, and I was scared to do anything.
I met my wife when I was working at a not-for-profit group that introduces new immigrants to the Canadian culture, how to get around, what resources are available, teaches ESL - etc. We were going to go camping with a group of newcomer youth and my not-for-profit group was teaming up with her group from a neighbouring city. Long story short I wound up waiting all weekend at camping for a moment where we could be alone and I asked her if she would be interested in going out with me and she said yes.
Having little experience with dating (and no sexual experience) I just tried to be myself and if that got me anywhere I would be happy, and if it didn't it didn't. I was fortunate in that my wife was more experienced than I was and took the lead for the most part - I joke with her that if it were up to me to make the first move we still (years later) wouldn't have kissed yet lol. For whatever reason my wife thought I was worth being with and slowly our relationship grew stronger until I was ready to ask her to marry me.
I can honestly say that at the time I was just doing what felt right and that in a lot of ways it didn't make sense for me to ask her to marry me - I remember talking with my father and he advised me to wait because I didn't have a long-term position at my work, she was still finishing up her post-bachelor degree, and we had no money to speak of. I really just felt that asking her and marrying her would make me happy, so I tried not to think about it too much and went for it, and just last July we got married - we took our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic and it was great.
To anyone who's over 20, doesn't have much dating or sexual experience, and maybe is a homebody who doesn't go out very much and prefers to play games - there is hope! I never used to worry too much and I always just thought everything would work out. Don't be afraid to take that risk in putting yourself out there though, you'll never know what you could have had.

can someone explain to me what's this [Girl Blog] that people are posting now? If it involves a girl, you add that to the title to get extra attention?

[Girl Blog] is essentially a popular type of blog type that people enjoy reading/giving comments on. Typically it's a sad, awkward, or success story but generally involves some sort of girl drama.

Yes its because people usually like to watch others fail than try themselves.
But in this case I was pleasantly surprised!
Congrats
