Stream Link:twitch.tv/thetempiar That's right everyone. YOLO Showmatch/Grudgematch that isnt really even a Grudgematch incoming between the brilliant, passionate Cricketer and the poetic, young Soularion.
The great battle of pashun and tl writing shall begin on:
Thursday, Feb 05 12:30am GMT (GMT+00:00)
Make sure that you show up to the immensely skill and troll based Bo9 that will be 45 times better than The_Templar and SetGuitarsToKill's Grudgematch.
You may ask, why? You two have little to no relationship or reason of any kind to hold this event. Well I say to thee, we are pretty close in skill and pashun dictates that the fun and silly events such as these preside in priority over the logic of us not playing in the showmatch due to us barely knowing each other.
The map pool will be:
P Cricketer<Nightmare> Soularion Z T Cricketer <Debris Field> Soularion T T Cricketer<Ohana> Soularion Z T Cricketer<Graveside> Soularion T P Cricketer <Cactus Valley> Soularion T T Cricketer <Agria Valley> Soularion Z T Cricketer<Metropolis>Soularion T P Cricketer <Emerald Plaza> Soularion Z <Habitation Station>
Soularion chose the first map, and I chose the second and third, he chose the fourth and fifth etc.
With the mixture of silly and legit maps, this is set to be an excellent series filled with multiple strategies and builds that make no sense.
The one question left is the races picked. Whilst I'd prefer Random vs Random its hard to tell what Soularion will do, but from what I can tell, if I get Zerg I win, if he gets Terran he wins. If ZvT, we get a match that puts Life v Maru to shame.
Behold, the great YOLO-match to come. You had better come watch. It will be super pashunate and stuf.
Also The_Templar and SetGuitarsToKill are duocasting this, so expect a lot of criticism for Soularion, and even more "Cricketer pls".
another thing we could do for extra mind games is this random idea i got...its a little confusing and weird but if you are up to it
we both get to play each race 3 times throughout the series no more no less, when we join map, we choose random, then at count of 3 or w/e we then select the race we want, regardless of what the other player picks. that way we dont get screwed by the bullshit RNG of the random system in Starcraft

yeah that sounds pretty good! Means that RNG won't give me 5 toss and an 0-5, which makes me happy ^^

RNG is fun though. That sounds annoying to coordinate and not terribly worth it, and you are probably going to get every race at least once so...

meh idk, it was just a thought, honestly i dont really care too much for it as it would force me to play terran thrice

That's true too. If you find it too annoying to coordinate, you'd probably know best - I'm fine either way.

I don't know who will be the more creative player, but that one will probably win because the maps are mostly out of the ordinary. I've seen both of them play, and although they are both bad, I seem to recall Cricketer being much less creative so I guess Soularion is favored. However, Cricketer has strategized more on unusual maps, such as Fastest Map Possible, so he could take advantage of a few of these.
Nightmare
This one depends on the race. Cricketer will lose as Zerg, as the map is very unkind towards expanding and he's more comfortable playing greedy. On the other hand, if Soularion gets Zerg, speedlings could be very effective for him with such a wide main ramp and short rush distance (and a long distance between bases). I'm going to guess that PvT favors the Terran player due to the amount of islands.
Cricketer < Soularion
Debris Field
If I recall correctly, Cricketer picked Debris Field, so he'll probably have a plan. While races will again come into it, I think the game will depend on which player is better at using the island map. Nobody is used to this sort of thing though.
Cricketer > Soularion
I don't have anything else interesting to say about the maps. The rest of this prediction is just feel

Carrier is 900 days not 3 years, so you needed to get it some time around blizzcon.

Cheer for good games! That's what this is for, really. It's a yolo showmatch, not a grudgematch ^^

I think this showmatch is 100% down to the races we get. If I get terran every time, I think 5-1 or 5-2. If I get toss every time, I think 0-5 or 1-5. We'll see, though.

i was really scared there because TvT is prob my weakest mu of all...so i thought fuck it, might as well hidden base, and widow mine was for protection since my terran macro sucks

Oooooh, 1v2 games ? Sounds tough. Will you be able to defend to double 4Gate ? The double 11-11 ? The double 2rack reaper ? The double proxy oracles ? So many nightmares in perspective...
