I listened to this. I cringed. In fact, I died a little inside. What has rap come to?
So my question to you is this: does Soulja Boy count as music?
Poll: Soulja Boy = Music? (Vote): Yes, music is just a collection of sounds. (Vote): Absolutely no fucking way. (Vote): I think Soulja Boy is a pretty cool guy. eh ruins rap music and doesn't afraid of anything.
I would say that the back beat is music..... bad music, uninteresting music -- possibly.
Soulja Boy can't rap or sing.......... Nas could of dedicated "Hip Hop is Dead" to Souja Boy because he's an exact example of what is wrong with hip hop / rap these days...
The worst part is that just about every single person in 5th ward Houston is a massive fan.... Believe me I've seen them and the horrendous dancing the produce. They're worse than Soulja Boy... and that's saying a lot.
wow, i cant believe this is the direction rap music is taking .That was terrible. Absolutely terrible. I cant get over how terrible that was. It was just so bad. wow.
i fucking hate you souljah boi. I frequently listen to hip/hop and shit and i just hate everything that comes out of his mouth. Around the time crank dat souljah boi came out i stopped listening to the radio, now i just listen to streaming trance on di.fm
i like rap, but not this kind of shitty new rap that's coming out... rap has seriously almost died. Well, maybe not died, but it has been inflated with shitty music.
kind of old... but i mean... how can you not like chuck d

i play/listen to alot of jazz, and ive noticed that some hip hop artists use jazz standards as 'samples', however i cant stand any hip hop and certainly not soulja boy
if you consider soulja boy music i really suggest taking a step back and evaluating your life
Most music that comes out today sucks ass. People make records for the moeny and don't even care about the quality at all anymore for the most part. It's not just rap either (although it's probably one of the worst offenders )
I find Soulja Boy more interesting to listen to than plenty of modern hiphop acts. More of a testament to the sad state of modern hiphop, but just saying.

agreed. nowadays its all about ringtone artists and such who are just in it to make it make money with all these finger snappin' dances and stupid phrases.
even with how shitty all his shit sounds i would still consider it music, just really shitty music.
dont get me wrong though, i would still give him props coming from.. normal life to riches with a shitty song with shitty lyrics that is able to control thousands of shitty people with some shitty dance.
Sigh... it really makes me sad to see the state of music today. Almost everything that comes out nowadays is just so shallow and uninspired. It hurts my ears to listen.
However, it seems that the masses are just lapping all this shit up. As long as it's profitable, this is the direction that music will continue to take.

That excuse is so old and lame. Pink Floyd was in it for the money.
Look at what other artists are putting out like Lupe Fiasco. The complaint about "music today" is old and tired. Your grand parents were saying the same thing when the Beatles overtook Bing Crosby.

Mynock disagrees though - he loves those dancing (if you can call it dancing) teenies.
Not really, I enjoyed them for their fun value in Utaban and HEY!x3 and such, but well, not anymore really...
