or any other PC game
anyone else use the service from jact.com? basically you just play your own PC games then you rack up credits for every minute you play and you trade them in for prizes (like video games and stuff)
it's at www.jact.com
I started back in the beginning of August and I've racked up 10k credits (most are from playing SC). The good prizes cost quite a bit of credits, though, like Rock Band 2 for X360 which costs 64k credits. So this is definitely for the long-term.
There's a program (called Eamonn) you have to install so it will know when you're in a game and it will give you credits accordingly. I just leave it on in the background (it doesn't seem to take much resources, and it starts up automatically on startup so it's really like it's not even there), and I'm hoping maybe in like seven or eight months I'll have enough credits to get a newly released PS3 game for free. I kinda like the slower build-up because I'm definitely not playing SC for the sole purpose of getting more credits, I'm just playing as much as I usually do and eventually I'll get a free game or something to show for it.
Anyways, I think you can try signing up from their site. I'm not sure how it's working right now but if you want a guaranteed signup just PM me with your email and I'll send you an invite (I have only 15 right now)
and sorry if this seems like spam...
currently for US residents only as they will not ship internationally! I think you can still rack up credits in case they decide to start shipping internationally in the future

if only this existed when we all started sc ;P

idc you've been here for a while so its not like you're just advertising

how do you get points? is it an hourly thing?
|
so i play sc like 13 hours a day this sounds pretty good

the User Reviews (ie. testimonials) go back to late 2006 (so I too missed a lot of potential credit earning) so I'm pretty positive this is safe and legit. If not, I'm sure the site would have been shut down a while ago...

aw so i can't just leave SC in the back ground?
|
yeah, way too much abuse would go on if they let you do that ^^
they also seem to be able to catch botters, so that's not an option either haha. Just play as you normally would and in the long run maybe you'll get something you want for free

could this possibly be a keylogger? I don't want my emails to be hacked.

Like I said, they've been around for a couple years now so if they were planting keyloggers on your computer, I don't think they'd be still around, and their forums seems pretty quiet about that issue. I don't know the details on how they know your game is "active" and that you're not botting as I'm not a programmer there, but I really am believing that they're not doing any nasty stuff. My antivirus certainly doesn't mind it ^^

is there a way to get rid of that "generating data" box that appears at the lower right corner of the screen. It's really annoying to play a game with that box there and it covers up everything. I got like 26 bux in like 15 mins
|
26$ in 15 mins ???
I guess it is a scam .... xD
edit: ok credits =/= $ lol

This is almost too good to be true... Whats the catch? What do the people giving away the free stuff have to gain? I'm still suspicious
|
What is the gain for the website?
|
If I understand correctly, the company is selling the numbers (how many hours of what games people are playing) to advertising companies. At least that's how it was vaguely explained on their site. They don't sell any personal data.
I'm tempted to give this a shot. Doesn't appear to have any serious catches that could cause any harm.
