My thought was that this would be great with a few friends. Possibly at a lan. (I don't lan with XBox though :/)
Simply because I would rape all my friends at this and they all rape me at every fps... It'd be good to win for once ;p

... why do they not understand... if you create an rts for console... PLEASE package a mouse and keyboard with it and design the game to use them! preferably a set that works on the console... if not.. well... at least you can use the keyboard and mouse to play starcraft...

My HALO fanboy friend is convinced it's probably the best rts ever.
Stupid jerks with different opinions on video games.

why can't you not understand, the average console user doesn't want that.
They want a game that is playable on the couch not with so many accessories. They are trying to bring the genre on consoles and from what I've seen they might have succeeded with halo wars. Granted for the rts veteran the gameplay is lacking and it's way too easy but for the common halo fans I think this could bring new players to appreciate rts in general. The controls are actually pretty good with the xbox360 controller, there are even shortcuts to go back to your bases/units
I don't really like the game, but I can see it sell pretty well when it comes out

I definitely agree with the controls, the only thing missing is a way to select specific units more quickly. There is no efficient way to pick out a small group of a different units from an army

It doesn't seem like a completely horrible game. I mean it looks like it has 0 competitive potential, but like Halo, it should be fun to play with friends. I can see myself having fun a-moving marines and shit into whatever kills marines just to see them die.
I'm still not going to get it though :p

An RTS on a console is just a big nono

I just think that it would be so frustrating playing RTS with a console controller. Samething (to lesser degree) with FPS. For someone who only plays console I guess it's fine, but to people who used to play those with a mouse...

There is no problem with Halo Wars existing. Not a game I would play though, but I don't own ax xbox anyway.
The biggest problem is the shitstorm of annoying Halo fans that will believe they pwn at RTS for winning a few games in Halo Wars. What Starcraft? That noob game, the graphics are so bad, Halo Wars is so much better.
