To me, she's the most beautiful girl in the world... We've only been together about 3-4 months now, but it's seemed like such a long time. I've never felt so comfortable around anybody before; when she's around there's nothing to worry about in the world. Making her happy is one of the most enjoyable things I can do; I only wish we weren't so busy all of the time...
I'm a very firm atheist. She is moderately Protestant. I attended church with her once (something I've never dreamed of doing) in order to understand her religion better. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it brought us so much closer together and it's been worth it, without a doubt.
I'm only 18; I can't believe I feel this strongly for another so early in life. I don't think I've ever met somebody with such a perfect mix of caring, pragmatism, kindness, modesty, and talent before, and I can't imagine meeting another.
I hope that everybody gets a chance to feel this way, sometime during their life~~

Beautiful response. Love at 18 is a funny thing. For your sake, I hope it's the real thing, but try to temper your expectations a little, you've got a long time ahead of you.

What about love at 14? That's pretty funny too

the first thing i thought when i saw that picture was
"push her off, push her off"
i get urges like that for no discernable reason though
EDIT: in all seriousness, congratulations on finding someone you feel so strongly about

I love how you posted this as my girlfriend broke up with me an hour ago... oh the irony GL to you bro, if you feel that way. dont let her go

You don't know you're in love until you've been with someone for at least a couple of years and you're still completely comfortable with them. 3-4 months is just infatuation, no matter how real it feels. Been there too. That doesn't mean you won't still be together in a couple of years. Just sayin - enjoy the moment while it lasts.
|
Congratulations. I don't really have much else to say, hehe...

I would say that going out with a believer is going to be very difficult long term.
It isn't so much a sin to go out with a non-believer but it's very greatly not-recommended. It was a hard decision for me not to get involved with a girl recently who was a non-believer.
Basically heres some of the challenges and advice:
1) If shes in love with you and knows her religion she knows that your on your way to hell and shes not which will mean her desperatly at some point trying to drag you into conversion because no one wants the person they love to go to hell at any cost. So your gonna need bear with some emotional times where she is trying to get you in to christianity at some point, of course I would encourage you to look unto Jesus but if your not going to just don't respond angry or in a really serious manner just say like your not ready or your not sure or something and be tender towards her.
2) pre-marital sex...yeah your gonna need to restrain yourself big time till marriage I know a few people who went out with non-believers, had sex and the christian split up the relationship out of guilt because christians cannot live in sin if they are regenerate which every believer is. It's not simply a choice that we make to switch off our morality and turn it back on in Sunday's. One mistake may cost you the relationship. (unless shes not regenerate, is a daughter of Christians but perhaps doesn't know Jesus despite going to church, this is a the position of a lot of so called "Christians" who go to church and live like the devil the rest of the week and still think there saved or go to a church which is apostate.)
I can think of some other advice but thats kinda later down the line. Just be really respectful and smart in deed, thought and action around her. Even if you don't believe in God, I do and I see him at work each day. If you take one of his daughters and incite her to sin perhaps by getting drunk, swearing, sexual contact before marriage around her or encourage her to I'm almost sure that relationship will end in some way and God will seperate her from you because God takes christians out of situations that are damaging to his relationship with them almost without fail.
Like me when I truely got converted even though my church was a bible believing one I got seperated out of it and later found out a few doctrines that were bad after studying much bible.
Anyway. Take care.

You're lucky. I've gone through dumb and ridiculous drama over/with women over the last three years or so. It got to the point where I just totally STOPPED.
I swear, girls around where I live are insane.

uhhh she's not quite that religious. Somehow she thinks that being a good person > being a believer so I'll go to heaven too, even if I don't believe in it... yeah. And no comment on the premaritial sex part.

most girls are like that, I guess I just got lucky, or somehow my personality repels those types?

if you guys want a girl like this, do not, ever, go to Venezuela...
Our chicks here don't know what love is anymore, you check the dictionary and it says:
Main Entry: lo·ve Pronunciation: \ˈló-vē'\ Function: noun/verb Inflected Form(s): plural lo·ves also lo·lovese Listen to the pronunciation of loves \ˈló-(ˌ)vēX'\ Etymology: Latin, love, heart; akin to amor Date: 1668 : a male erectile organ of copulation by which urine and semen are discharged from the body and that develops from the same embryonic mass of tissue as the clitoris

I haven't put much thought to chicks in that sense for like the last six months...just been chilling with friends having a good time without worrying about getting into a relationship or a hookup.
To be completely honest, I've never felt freer, it feels like a huge amount of stress has just disappeared, and nor have I been this bored. -____-;;
If there's one thing "love" does, is it preoccupies the mind. There's a lot less to think about when you're not concerning yourself with it...lol.

my friend's parents were dating at 18, and now they are happily married. Foolish optimism for the win!

Somehow she thinks that being a good person > being a believer so I'll go to heaven too lolllllll if she thinks that consitutes salvation she goes to an apostate church and probably isn't saved.

you pop up in every thread that mentions christianity and you preach in a condescending tone
and i have to remind you that you never truly resolved all of the inconsistences idra, mindcrime, and i brought up in your own damn thread.
