I don't believe this and as such i'm not clicking that link.
If Stork goes to KTF then well.. KTF becomes just about unstoppable....
Like... that trade would be so insanely expensive. Stork has slipped before and then come back to win an OSL, he's a fairly invaluable player.

Blah. I don't like this policy on TL of, "Let's just copy whatever we want." We copy Fomos pictures, translate their stories and interviews, host OGN and MBC VODs, and even copy and paste English articles from for-profit websites. I would imagine that most of that stuff is without any kind of permission.
|
I will cry myself to sleep when I find out Stork leaves Samsung. Imagining seeing him in orange just gives me shivers...
I picked Samsung as my team in the little bottom-right-of-post-box thing because of Stork.
Since Stork is a free agent (has that gone into effect yet?), does that mean he would have the option to leave Samsung regardless of their wishes?

You know how laws work don't you?
If you aren't making any profit from it then as long as you site your sources you are completely free to use those pictures/stories/interviews.
They could of course stop TL if they wanted to and they KNOW that TL exists... it's far too big of a website in the SC scene for them not to know.

We don't copy/paste English articles.
Translation and picture usage is always cited in Teamliquid sanction posts.

I dont' think stork switching to KTF would be that big of a deal... would KTF really be overpowered?

You seem to be saying that it's OK to copy, as long as we give it away for free. That may be true with material under a Creative Commons license, but it's certainly not true most of the time. For example I cannot give away music simply because I am "doing it for free."
EDIT: and didn't we get in trouble with Fomos at one point for translating their interviews?

Would this mean I would have to start liking Flash and Luxury? ewwww no thanks.

I don't think Samsung would sell stork. Samsung is such a rich team. There's no reason that they'll be selling players rather than buying players. All those amateurs want to go to samsung because samusng is a rich team.

hahah KTF= New York Yankees
if this is true...
seriously ktf is just like
you macro? WE BUY GOGOG
|
why would samsung sell one of their aces?
that doesnt make any sense
|
It's ok Samsung KHAN still has JangBi who i think will overtake Bisu in the near future as no1 toss.

wouldn't be surprised that samsung would give up stork given that they want to focus on jangbi these days
|
Oh man Stork on KTF? Would be great for the team... but feels so wrong .
|
It's more like SC2GG "suggests" rather than "says", from my understanding of the article.
|
ktf just needs new uniforms to be the most badass team
not that they werent already from the old days
|
wow. KTF keeps buying non-KTF players that I like. nice coincidence if this is true ofc. Now they have to pick up Mind to continue the trend. :D

i seriously doubt this. although khan would still have jangbi, stork is a pillar of that team. there's nothing that says he won't return to top form, and his wisdom / experience are still invaluable. and there's no way samsung would trade away all of the stork fans. this is just ridiculous. also, y they speculate that khan would be more willing to give up stork than skt1 would give up best is beyond me. imo, stork's doing better than him, and there's no way he'd be less expensive -.-

Yes! I fully agree! Lets not translate korean articles anymore! Just learn korean you lazy bastards, I mean how hard can it really be? And lets all move to korea so we can take out own pictures of progamers to use in a thread reporting the score of WL/MSL/OSL! There we can also get full access to the live TV.
Also lets never link to a pro-profit site again so it can get its revenue![/sarcasm]

Lets see...
Flash , forgg, luxury, and add stork to that? You have an ace from every race then.

Anyone in Korea know how much Samsung actually spends on the team? They've always been a fairly frugal team in terms of dealings. Heavy on the strategies(i.e. 2v2 specialists) to win proleague despite a thin roster in the past. So I've always figured that their parent company doesn't really care about the team like KTF or SKT1.
But I can't think that they'd be so underfunded as to give away by far their most marketable player? I mean, Samsung is the largest company in Korea. And it's not like Khan has some up and coming protoss who can quickly take Stork's place.

I think Jangbi will have his moment He is already pretty decent

if stork is indeed a free agent, samsung khan doesnt have any rights on behalf of stork. Any team can bid to obtain him, but ultimately Stork decides where he wants to go. Samsung Khan, on the otherhand, can match or beat offers from other teams to try to persuade him to stay.

What if he has friends in KTF that he would like to join or that he thinks that he would have better practice there?

Stork to KTF might be good for his career. He might get more attention there and it might help him get some confidence back since Jangbi has been stealing his glory lately.

Then Samsung Khan can't stop him from leaving. Which was the point of my earlier post directed at GTR's comment.

You do realize that you need more than one player to win in the proleagues, right? Khan is not a deep team.

Isn't that basically what GTR meant? It's been a while since that topic on free agency came up. But I got the impression that it was more like the equivalent of Restricted Free Agency of American sports(where original team can resign provided they pony up enough money), rather than Unrestricted Free Agency(where the player can sign with any team for however much he wants).
|
i reworded my comment. I mean to say " Samsung Khan can match or beat offers to persuade him to stay."
I really have no idea if it's restricted free agency or not. There really hasnt been much news on who's on the free agency list or how they plan to implement the system.

I'd really hate it if this were to happen...
I don't really like the thoughts of forgg going to ktf, I'd really like them to raise their own players.
Oh well, I guess the only reason I was fine with them buying lux was because I like lux, not really sure I'd be happy with them buying any toss. Why can't lucifer just get good >_<

Well OGN needs good zergs too for future, while having 2 good zergs doesn't give good training morale to other zergs (to get spot for proleague). But now only having yarnac and some other zergs the competition is better inside team.

Good move for KTF, rather like SKT picking up Bisu while he was slumping. They can probably get a bargain for him, too, and if this is true I wouldn't be surprised if ForGG is part of the deal. FBH is more of a gimmick than an ace player, and you can't count on Frozean for any sort of consistency. JangBi and TT can hold down the Protoss lineup while youngsters are developed, and Khan's Zerg lineup has always needed development, though great is showing promise.

Without Stork I think Khan would be pretty screwed for the coming PL rounds/individual leagues. JangBi/Stork are their only consistently good players there (though Stork sucks at PL at times). firebathero has been slumping pretty badly, FrOzean has always been mediocre, great is *OK* but he'd have a lot more pressure, and there's not many other zergs to share it (oDin? Chavi?). As for other Protoss players... TT? I don't think he's going to be helping out that much. yoOn got a three-kill vs eStro but other than that hasn't played a thing.
Even slumping Stork/JangBi are still the two stars of Khan, if they gave either one of them up their second tier players would be under a lot of pressure and I doubt the team would have a good showing at all.
If Stork does go to KTF though I think it may be the better decision for him, possibly having better practice partners in fOrGG/Luxury/Flash, and of course a bigger paycheck Keep in mind that whoever wrote that article was just speculating though, at the end of the article:
KTF is officially in the process of signing a new Protoss player, although no name is currently known, it won’t be too big of a surprise if we see the MagicNs fly south for the winter to pick up “The BirdToss”.

Well it's good to include at least a bit of info with the link provided, or else TL will become a bunch of one line posts with a title and a link inside and zero effort. That issue already happens quite a bit.
But anyways, I don't know how you decided it Stork was going to KTF based on that link. Seems like a lot of speculation on your part and not the article.

Well I can see stork being angry at Khan neglecting him in favor of Jangbi. If this is true, I can be a fan of KTF again, now that they have a decent Protoss!
