The Simpsons can be compared to Boxer or SaviOr. Even though it's past its prime, you still are a fan.

still loved season 19, but 20 sucks donkey balls

the thing is, while it is enjoyable to watch boxer or savior, watching new simpsons isn't enjoyable (for me at least).

Ahh Simpsons. The writers do still have flashes of brilliance once in a while imo

I completely agree that The Simpsons went way downhill after the middle of its run. It used to be funny on many levels, now the humor tends to be a lot lower-brow and just flat out not as funny. I believe this coincides with writers like Conan O'Brien leaving the team?
I don't actively tune in each week, but I'd still rather watch The Simpsons than Family Guy. I typically can watch an entire Family Guy episode without even cracking a smile more than once; they build a completely unfunny gag then run it for about 30 seconds more than it should go even if it were funny.

American Dad has replaced The Simpsons for me.

Scrubs ended? Good riddance, imo..
EDIT:

I didn't know that Conan obrien worked as a writer on the simpsons... interesting.
Family Guy was funny the first season, I think.. now it just looks like they are trying to be unfunny.

Family Guy will outlast them all because you can't run out of jokes that have nothing to do with the plot.

Simpsons 3-9 best jokes were irrelevant to the plot too.
Simpsons 3-9 is still the greatest collection of comedy works by any set of writers imo. Unfortunately it did indeed get shit, as all the writers left to pursue illustrious careers in Disney and other shows like Futurama.
Simpsons post series 10 is, most of the time, the biggest pile of wank since debbie harry's rapping skills.

I must agree that season 20 is below average but its so because for some reason MG is pushing the wrong plot lines, like the school stuff for example, Skinner is basically in almost every episode which is getting quite annoying. I still think the 90's show from season 19 is the best episode of simpsons Ever so there is actually good stuff every once and a while. As for futurama , imho the films are completely ruining the good show. In fact the hole 5th season was quite bad tbh... Its getting more or less like... Friends ? lol

IMHO, the quality of the Family Guy episodes has already deteriorated considerably. While they will get some laughs out of me I think they're not half as funny as they used to be.

Family Guy just got horrible first four seasons or so they were great. But after they came back from the strike, they had gone to shit, really makes me sad as I was a huge fan
|
Simpsons peaked with season 9. There will never be episodes as good as The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson and Simpson Tide
|
i still like family guy. I never liked South Park.
Simpsons has sucked since season 8/9 when they fired the writers and hired new ones. Almost every good episode is from < 3 season

ooo, I've just started watching Simpsons a few seasons back..... but am i the only one that finds that simpsons are gradualy improving (20>19>18>17)?? minus a few crappy episodes?

All of my friends are die-hard Simpsons fans and they agree that the show is way worse now than it was in its first seasons.

simpsons fell off so hard lately i care so little

ever thought of it that way?

No, it's not that we got older. Because you can still check the re-runs of when the simpsons was good. It had great jokes, great timing, the voice acting was behind the jokes, and everything was simply done better with far more brilliant writing.
Later on, I don't know which year but any and all episodes started to suck, 2002-2003 maybe, all the things I mentioned previously seemed to fly out the window.
As for Family Guy, fuck family guy. Fuck the writers of family guy. May that show burn in hell because I honestly don't know how I watched that when it came out. Family guy is like where the least talented writers of all time on television have went.

family guy still sucks but it will always have those retarded fans who think the show is funny because of the lame off-plot jokes
|
Yea I watched that episode too. That whole segment (during which Maggie) spoke was really cool because it was a huge reference to The Fountainhead which I just started reading a few days ago. I think Marge said Maggie's name was Maggie Roark and her teacher was Mr. Toohey. He destroyed her building block architectural creations! The bastard...

I also agree, I stopped watching a few years back as well because it went downhill and wasn't funny anymore -.-

The MacBeth segment was the high point of the episode, and will likely be the high point of the season :\
Still a loyal Simpsons fan though <3

lol the site in the op is so shady I keep getting pop ups trying to get me to download some stuff :/ which obviously CANT BE VIRUSES

I'm surprised the Simpsons are still on the air. What type of ratings do they get?

The Simpsons evolved beyond the jokes and the humor. I doubt they will take it off the air cause the show had and still has a huge impact on the audience. If you are looking for kick ass jokes thou Simps is most likely not the right show to watch. Family Guy wont last near as half of the simpsons

This... such a terrible show, I remember watching and a scene where they had nothing but peter laughing for 3 mins straight.
