Today Sonic announced the 16th SOSPA Ranking Tournament on his message board. The next season will most likely be before the 9th Season of the SSL. SRT will yet again host a 32-man tournament based on invites. Only one of those invites have been decided thus far, and it's BeSt. He won't be joining the army until the 26th of September, so the next season will most likely be played before then.
The 16th season is sponsored by Sinbal Farm, with no prize pool announced yet. Sonic is also looking for recommendations on who the other 31 players should be, and invites everyone to leave a comment on his message board.
Oh man that could potentially be awesome news. Depends on how much practice BeSt can get in before it kicks off.
32 people means sponsorship continues I assume? A bit fast having three SRTs right after eachother like this though. Kinda miss the various event matches

Sinbal Farm, aka Sonic himself, will sponsor the next season, not iStarPCMall

I may be completly wrong in here, but I highly doubt kespa will let any one of their players play a bw tournament, even if it's off season. And afaik no "active pro" has played in any sospa event, right?
Can you play during your mandatory military service? Not like ACE, but can you like doing it on spare time (if there's any, dunno?) Would be amazing if Best coming back to BW not just for this.

Then I guess the prize pool is a bit lower as well. Nothing new on that?

yes, one of the best pvt player of all time
super hyped for this
Mega hyped! I feel some of the current kespa sc2 pro's will slowly trickle back to BW and the join the sospa scene. First it was Sea, now Best is playing in SRT and the chinese Showmatch featuring Bisu was also announced today! It's great news for us xD
Wow! I'm so excited for the return of a Dragon. Every time I see a former pro in the SRT I get hype and watch their games. Especially when they play each other... I just pretend it's in SPL a few years ago and, even if just for a few games, I feel like it's the good ol' days again.
Best vs Sea.... oh please happen.

I dunno about best ever, but Anytime beating iloveoov in the semi-finals and Boxer in the finals of an OSL is perhaps the best PvT run in the individual leagues. Well, Jangbi beating Flash in the Ro8 and Fantasy in the finals is perhaps just as good too.

My vote goes to Stork though, of course.
Jangbi for me if we're going down that road!
Hope he'll improve, he didn't really show much good on stream compared to pusan or movie :<
Depends on what era we're talking about when it comes to PvT. Stork does have the results to back it up and before KeSPA switched JangBi was owning face. Ha ha ha someone else finally noticed the switch. He was always a fan of STX man and that Grand Finals was more than enough to make the switch at least for a little bit to show his support.

I've not been posting much recently, I was hurting too much from the BeSt news. Atleast this means I can see him play some more, I always loved his play no matter what the game.

I think Bisu broke his heart too many times so he umm abandoned him :O Poor Bisu Also, SKT not getting through and STX winning was the final straw that broke Bisudagger's back
I would say Jangbi is the best protoss. Having said that, I also heard that Reach is good too lol.

I watched him play several games when he started streaming again and I'd say he's fairly rusty. His macro is still pretty decent.

Reach has the good looks, but I remember all those special matches where he got stomped. :/ It makes me feel bad because I was a huge fan of his back in the day. KTF FOREVER. Now that's what I call a dream team.

I'm not sure what your time frame of "back in the day" is, but if special matches are all that you remember of Reach, then you obviously haven't witnessed the true power of MANTOSS.

I'm well aware of Dan's run in with him. Reach might have the body language, but he just couldn't keep up and even in those special matches I know I certainly walked away disappointed.
More great news. This might be what I need to start watching BW again, someone I can properly get behind and cheer for.
Last I saw him play on Afreeca he was pretty rusty. Still the same weaknesses in PvT but his PvP was okay although I don't know how he'd fare against someone like Movie or Shuttle. Didn't see his PvZ at all. Overall, pretty excited and I hope he comes out strong and wins that SRT. This is pretty exciting stuff.

yeah he was. The first final I watched was between him and nal_ra. I picked protoss initially because of those two.
wow, i didnt know foreigners can participate in SOSPA Events too. Apparently the chinese are much stronger then us, coz they can send a player to SRT :D

Is there any statement of Sonic or BeSt to why he ddint participate? It's really sad for me, i was looking forward to see him play in a BW tournament very much T_T
