Preventing the StarCraft Dark Age. StarCraft: Remastered is above all else a good thing. It will do what it promised - bring StarCraft to a new generation of gamers. It will bring new blood and perhaps rekindle old flames. Yet it will not prepare players for the history they must face. This release is only the beginning; the coming months will be crucial. A community framework needs to be revived after the initial coverage subsides, and new players need to be made aware that there is more to this old game than they might expect. There are truths that will seem disingenuous to most, issues that can be seen clearly when taking the history of this game into account, to see it and the evolution it has undergone through the eyes of those of us that have witnessed the last two decades of Starcraft. There is a potential worst case scenario looming. A reality in which too few players will get to know the context in which they will be required to brave this game. I’ve given this scenario the dramatic title of ‘The Starcraft Dark Age’ - in which the new generation of players will be stranded in the past, unable to move beyond their predecessors - the veterans still present today. Just want to give it as much exposure as I can.

I'll say one thing about Remastered ... It'll make casting FFAs a lot easier. But out of principle I'll still need to be a bitter asshole about it, at least for the first few months.

Still ranting about RM, I feel I have to - and a game is happening meanwhile.

A honourable 2v2 where sticking to your guns is fine, as long as you can get any sort of result and not continue to run into your direct counter.

Two hours and forty minutes of bullshitting, terrible play, a few good nukes, whining, bitching and generally getting on each other's nerves. No prep on the recording, quality is what it is. A pure unfiltered NHFFA PoV experience.

I have a really cool TvT in mind which would make for an exciting read. Thanks, and of course! I'm always on the lookout for that illusive 'worst game of brood war ever played'. I was a bit busy IRL, so all I produced was the PATL and the Beginners tourney. But I'll definitely be back to regular Vidrep schedules soon (after another PATL cast).

Hey, thanks. It's always nice to know that those viewcounts are actual people and I'm not completely going insane. I'm also happy that I'm not alone in thinking that this is sometimes a better introduction than watching Pros do what they do. You need context to be in awe of what they can achieve.
