Welcome to the AfreecaTV StarLeague Cheerful Contest! With ASL5 set to kick off on Sunday, Mar 11 10:00am GMT (GMT+00:00), AfreecaTV has provided TeamLiquid.net with two official ASL player jackets from the previous ASL season to give away to the Team Liquid community. We've decided to give these jackets away through a contest centered around one of StarCraft's oldest fan traditions: Cheerfuls.
What's a 'cheerful?' It's an image, usually in combination with text, made by fans to cheer on a player or team. If you've watched competitive StarCraft, you've probably noticed players displaying such cheerfuls in their booths. Here are some examples below:
At their core, cheerfuls are really just an image (or even a drawing!) of a player alongside an encouraging comment. However, cheerfuls evolved over time, becoming an opportunity for fans to show off their graphic design skills, cleverness with words, and sense of humor. Now, it's time for the TeamLiquid.net community to show how passionate and creative they can be in cheering for their favorite StarCraft players. Check out some examples of previous TeamLiquid.net cheerful contests: TLS Contest, TSL4 Contest, TSL3 Contest.
Here are the rules for the ASL5 Cheerful Contest:
Post a cheerful in this thread using the template provided below. You can cheer for a single player, or as many players as you want, as long as they're competing in the ASL.
You may post ONE cheerful PER ROUND of the tournament. Rounds of the tournament are defined as: RO24, RO16, RO8, RO4, and Grand Finals. That means if you submit one cheerful per round, you can submit FIVE cheerfuls total. Cheerfuls for each round must be submitted BEFORE the final match of the applicable round concludes.
Awarding (1): ONE jacket will be given away through a random raffle of all the submitted cheerfuls.* Each cheerful submission counts as a separate entry, so make sure to submit a cheerful for each round!
Awarding (2): ONE jacket will be given away to the best cheerful, as judged by TeamLiquid.net staff.*
Miscellaneous rules: Entrees containing objectionable (including BUT NOT LIMITED TO racist and/or homophobic content) or extremely low-effort content will be disqualified at TeamLiquid.net's sole discretion. All cheerful contest rules are subject to change.
*TeamLiquid.net staff are not eligible to receive prizes.

When Last beat Flash in the ASL2 (I think?) I had one saying "Alphago > God" and when Last played his next set vs Shuttle, it appeared in the Last's section of the intro hype video. That has to be worth something ;p

By the way, to anyone, who doesn't have photoshop but find ms paint not enough, there are online photo editors you can use for free, like this one: https://www.photopea.com
or just google "online photoshop" or something, and you'll find many.

The Ro24 has concluded and with that, the Ro16 now begins. Everyone is free to submit another cheerful if they like, even if you submitted one for the Ro24. It's 1 per round after all.
Side note: AweAwe and Trozz, assuming the cheerfuls above my post are for the Ro16?

It's for the finals! And the rounds leading to it. LJD fighting~
the contest might not run all the way till then, so why not say this is for the Ro16 and then you can submit another for the Ro8 etc... if we decide to continue it?
Spoiler warning! This was made after ro8 game herO vs. Mind! + Show Spoiler +
This cheerful is very emotional to me personally. The picture on the right is nothing particular, I took it from the winners interview after the ro16. The picture on the left, however, is one I downloaded from the Unimpressed Flash meme thread years ago, on June 13th 2012 in fact, a very different time and place, and it's been sitting on my computer ever since. It's always stayed with me in my mind as a true testament to the legacy of Brood War and it's impact not only on myself but more importantly on the world of gaming as a whole, and all you wonderful individuals on teamliquid and every player out there. Given the current state of ASL I feel it only fitting that it's our Ultimate Weapon who is the last defender of the Terran race. As a Terran player myself, I feel proud to watch him carry on the fight in ASL. FlaSh hwaiting.
If I can critique the previous two, I don't think the best cheerful should just be about the match, but showing a bias and cheering a particular player on. I know the rules say you don't have to cheer a particular person on, but its more fun to see cheerfuls clashing than just hyping up a match.
