Match Point, YEAH, i really like to see some more games on this fabulous map, thats a great map-choice by the organizers! now i'm even more hyped for the upcoming season
I like these groups. Looks like we will see a few new faces in the ro16 group selection ceremony. That is my favorite part of the tournament besides the final.
Soulkey to me seems like the favorite. He's better at ZvZ than effort (I think?) and with no flash playing (and last not playing at his best lately it seems?), I don't see anyone beating him. Although with new maps there's always a chance someone comes at him with a good cheese build he doesn't see coming in the group stages and knocking him out.

This one will be a cool asl. It’s funny that every asl recently has had a different champion. Best chances belong to rain , sharp, effort, and last to me but with lasts hand injury, it’s decreased. Rain and effort probably will meet in the finals. And slight chance light or where could make it too.
Cant understand how Light is under the radar this season... Guy is clearly among favorite and i would be extremly disapointed to not see him reaching final four

What's up with Light? He's good but doesn't seem champion material. I am not sure he would take Mind's spot, they both have excellent TvZ and could actually advance together.

Light is great at TvZ, pretty decent in TvT, average TvP (maybe slightly below). I can definitely see him in the Ro16, MAYBE the Ro8 if he avoids Protoss. But he's also a chronic choker and so I have little faith in him getting past the Ro8.

Bisu.
Man. What are the odds he starts playing again when he gets out?

seeing the way he lost to miso in the previous ksl also kinda dampens his tvz specialist aura, at least from my view.

Tyson actually, but I like you're guess. Tyson whooped Flash with carriers. Anyone remember how fun that was to watch? Tesagi means Tyson OP.

Actually, isn't Match Point terran favored? Don't know about the other maps, but this is as good a shot as he was ever going to get, with the top dogs like Flash not playing
On January 10 2019 07:26 Seeker wrote: What happened to Jaedong?
As far as I know he intended to go on a trip/travel, or at least there were rumours of that during the last Moo Proleague. In any of case, it didn't seem like he was going to try to qualify for ASL7.
I can't see action taking out piano in group B. I'm guessing that group B will be Snow and Piano advancing, with piano taking out action twice but losing to snow.
Could be the hardest group, yeah. In fact, i dont know Tinkle but i could see snOw getting eliminated right away. Both actioN and PianO are in better form than him at the moment.
I also think Snow will be a savage in this tournament. He did even better than Rain against Jaedong in a recent tournament. I forget if it was KSL or ASL.
Pretty sure Actions' crazy play in ASL 6 in a group with Flash/JD got him a bunch more fans here. We all know his results have been bad since he squeezed by JD (due to a mis-assigned hotkey), but we love watching him play.
its clear he practiced a lot, consistently highest sponbang matches played every month recently. skill level wise i put him as A class same as larva. i actually think that if he prepared he can definitely top the group considering the glaring weaknesses of his opponents (snow being mediocre in zvp, piano terribad at all save for tvz, inexperienced amateur)
I am rooting for rush and I almost thought he didn’t make it but I would love to see rush and byul make the top eight or top four. They have the talent just need the execution
Oh my god! Nada is back! I watched him streaming, he has really improved! his 500APM+++ are back when the game actions require it! So impressive! If he continues to practice like that he has real chance to do something great in this ASL!
GOGO Nadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, best Terran ever (oh well there is Flash, so second best terran ever!!!! but for my nostalgy I place him 1st!)
Yeh I think it's not so much that action is bad or anything, its just that the bracket suggests he will have to beat Piano to advance and I don't like those odds. Although potentially he will only have to beat him in one of two matches.

hrmm..
Piano hasn't been good for several years now (Post-Sonic era really). Meanwhile Action had a pretty good second half of 2018. I'd pick the hot hand in this instance.
A natural after more than 15 years spent playing xD It's astonishing to see him back in shape and, considering that Flash and Last are having wrist problems, the scene would really need another top level terran; moreover, it's NaDa THE LEGEND!

His vZ is still nothing to scoff at though. I wouldn't peg Piano for Ro16 normally but just the way that group shook out
My top 5 over-rated players going to ASL 7 1 snOw 2 Mind 3 Rain 4 PianO 5 Best My top 5 under-rated players going to ASL 7 1 Guemchi 2 Light 3 Rush 4 sacsri 5 actioN
Hopefully im wrong against snOw. Best is playing good as of late, but is a protoss version of Mind imo. Rain always seems to have a good bracket/group, this season is no exception. Ro16? Probably. Ro8? Unlikely. PianO is PianO and Mind being Mind is the deeper i can go. May be im too much hyped about Guemchi and actioN, always been a fan of both. Used to hate Light with a passion, but he is damn impressive lately in all the match ups. Didnt saw Rush a lot to be fair, but all the games i watched i had to double check if it was really him playing. As for sacsri, its more like a wish then a fact; he clearly has the skills to do better than what we expect.

Idk I think snow rain are all fairly evaluated. Same with action light. If anything action is a little overhyped because of the hot hand and he fell off hard in ksl.

I don't know who is overrating Mind. I doubt many of us expect him in the ro8. If he meets a single Terran he is done too.
Light isn’t overrated or underrated he’s the same as every tournament before the start when people say, yeah what about him he’s good, and then he loses in ro16. I think this will be the same story for light. Best is in good form though and at his peak is just as strong or stronger than light in my opinion

Light has improved at an impressive rate lately. I dont know if his stats online speak otherwise, but he definately look scary right now.
Yeah he is in good form but I feel like he isn’t always in good form and is one of those rare ppl that qualifies for every star league almost no matter what

Yes, they are the same person; on the other hand, Snow's PvT was considered strong and he recently beat Flash in a Proleague ace match...
Ouch, NaDa is on really tough spot. Facing Larva which will probably end up losing vs. him (although I saw recently on stream NaDa beating him with crazy mass dropship play) and afterwards TvT vs. Rush who is really decent on it or Horang2 who can bring it into late game.
I feel like Best has had some great games and has underperformed/been unlucky. Really pulling for him to take the protoss crown and go deep. Rain is so inconsistent these days. Not sure what to think.
Love the balance in the different groups. Every group will have nice variety. Hope we get better early round games than last KSL.

I look forward to watching that match in the ro24. Thanks for the info. I didn’t mean to say snows pvt is weak just Rumour had it that He’s slumping recently

Yeah, ASL is using a 1/4/2/3 rank in each group i think. From 24 players who qualifies to Ro24, they separate them in 4 groups of 6 players. Then, they randomly select 1 of each group to make 6 balanced groups.
At least its what i believe theyre doing. Can anyone confirm?
