They stayed with him for a bit and Alex, being somewhat on the inside, knew of this, at a time EG was looking for a team, losing their old 1.6 roster when the CGS formed (Chicago Chimera). Alex knew this team would be looking for a new home soon if Lake couldn't find any backing, so he just made an offer. He wasn't really trying to "steal" the team, more like give them an option, would coL not be able to support them. Lake's response was uncalled for ... What did he expect? When he came in, he bought out his players ... What's the issue with Garfield buying out 4 coL players, who were most likely going to look elsewhere anyways? CS salaries everywhere have dropped. So many teams cannot afford to pay what they were the past 1-2 years. And a lot of teams even have trouble paying the monthly salaries on time. So Lake, not being able to pay his players like he could previously, is a horrible excuse. Look at the ex-MYM team: its been nearly two months and yet they're still without an organization despite being one of the top five teams in the world.

Not a big market for teams like this right now which is kind of why it's surprising to see a team pop up now. I know SC2 is on the horizon, but even so. That's why CS salary and teams in general have been dropping down and falling off.
