yeah Mondragon has been like this since ever!
before match: "i am just the underdog, my opponent is so strong...."
after match: " I was just very lucky and somehow i beat my opponent...."
Hahaha, mondi ofc...
Yea Finals will be EPIC, the 2 most smartest players in the FINALS
( i would also say nicest guys if there was no guy called white-ra haha)

Mondragon's ZvP gives me chills

Short but sweet semis. Love the results, though; it's not every event there's a finals where I'll be extremely happy with a win by either player. Third place match should be pretty awesome, as well.

oh damn, the finals are going to be SO FUCKING EPIC

The word zergling and phrase zergling speed just took a whole new meaning for me. ZvZ is really fun to watch all of a sudden.

My God poor Sen.
Mind over mechanics. Anyway.
I was a bit confused by Mondi's muta micro in game 2. This horribad muta vs scourge control could have costed him the game. That's surprising cuz his zvt muta micro has been simply amazing.
This victory is good news: in foreigners realm, creativivty and unexpected situations management are still amongst the most useful skills toi have.

Day[9] and Tasteless don't cast together because the universe couldn't handle the Plott brothers on the same stream.
Seriously how awesome would that be?

Nice nice, Nony and Mondragon won. I can't wait to see these two play my favourite match-up (PvZ).
This should be so good and congratulations to Mondragon for winning today : )

Fast games, but still pretty fun. My analysis:
Game 1: Overpool > 9 pool
Game 2: Bad multi-tasking by Sen + great decision making by Mondragon (pulling two reinforcements back to defend; granted he was lucky to have scouted them)
Game 3: 9 pool > Overgas + Research Zergling Speed first, but really bad decision making on Sen's part doing that on a 3-player map while knowing that Mondragon has played fast zerglings for the last two games

Overgaspool usually beats 9pool...

I remember how around the same day the TSL announcement was made Nony and Infernal were talking about how good Mondi was vs reaver sair. Nony said that he'd have to try and make it far to try reaver sair against him and here they are in the finals. Fuckin psychics !!!

It doesn't if you research zergling speed first. Edited to reflect that.

It was horrible decision making from sen to make lair AND speed before lings.

Unfortunately Mondragon will win against Nony in the finals unless he doesn't practice ZvP much and Nony is in great shape with his PvZ.
That matchup is just hard like that, especially to win a bigger BO.
|
I think I give Nony a significant edge against Mondi just because he's really good at making weird builds work and Mondi is practicing for regular protoss stuff.
If he even gets 1 game from a weird build that could be the difference.
|
That would depend on whether you believe Mondragon when he says he's going to practice standard Protoss. We all know Mondragon has a habit of downplaying himself

See http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=31861
And people need to stop throwing out such blanket statements as one build beating another if they can't even distinguish in variations of builds (ie overgas9pool and overgas11pool are two completely different things and have much different objectives) or identify that it wasn't the build for someone losing (also maps can change things completely with the rush distances) but rather the decision making/micro of both players (see andromeda game for example)

You are completely wrong on game three. I mean, come on, try to watch it again. Sen rallied his first 2 zerglings into mondi's taking them to red hp. Then the next 2 lings also got hit, again due to the fail rally. His build was safe vs 9 pool, if he had microed decently.. He might have lost 1 or two drones at max, but that would just make them even since mondi had lower drones due to his 9 pool.
