Mong vs ZerG aka HoGiL on Circuit Breakers!
|
Horizontal spawns. ZerG at bottom left (overlord scouting top left first) and Mong at bottom right. 12 hatch scout incoming from ZerG,1 rax opening for Mong.

ZerG scouts diagonally first and Mong's SCV circles the map in the altogether wrong direction. Mong takes a fast expansion but attacks with his first two marines.

First two marines kill the second overlord easily. The bunker at Mong's natural forces ZerG's initial zerglings into retreat. Three hatches two bases for ZerG currently, Lair tech going up.

First attack, 6 marines atttempt to snipe the extractor at the natural. Sunkens under construction, ZerG is in no position to challenge this push. Third rax under construction for Mong. The initial aggression by Mong is eliminated by the next small wave of Zerglings.

Academy and Engineering bay up and stimpack researched, Mong pushes out with 8 rines, 2 medics, and a firebat.

Two sunkens and some morphing lurkers are in his way.

Starport under construction for Mong, Queen's Nest for ZerG. Mong takes minor losses from minor Lurker aggression. 5th rax under construction. First siege tank has been produced. Spire just started now.

Science Facility complete, ZerG finally about to take a third base. Mong's vessel count is 1 and he keeps killing random lurkers on his side of the field. He crosses to the center of the map and moves southwest to hit the natural! ZerG has forces behind him! ENGAGEMENT. Lurkers all dead, but vessel sniped!

Mong about to take a third base. He is significantly ahead. The first two defilers can't do anything just yet. HoGiL is certainly playing minimalist here. Drop on the third base at top left. No reason it shouldn't succeed.

Mong has passively gained a one base advantage on ZerG. A medic/firebat-heavy defensive force! Vessel-count 2, he snipes both defilers and leaves. Scifac is floating about. The first offensive push never died! Third base is now nominal for Mong and he's added vultures.

Mong's third factory is under construction. It seems he's planning a mech switch. ZerG on two bases, his third building one is being assaulted by a basic marine force. gg from ZerG! He's got no money and no way to slow Mong down!

Circuit Breakers, pillabak2 (Pusan) vs by.herO. Looks like hero is rank 6 on Fish currently! Horizontal spawns, hero at top right (scouts in wrong direction), Pusan at top left, who scouts for the initial overlord and catches it. hero doesn't bother rerallying his overlord to the northwest. Forge first fast expand versus what looks like a 12 hatch.

Pusan finally takes his gas as his nexus and first gateway warp in. Immediate cybercore afterwards. We got dollars and tech! Immediate lair from hero, no hydra bust incoming.

Spire begins for hero as stargate completes for Pusan. Citadel begins constructuion. There is no overlord over Pusan's base, so he has no idea what to expect. 4 new gateways added in Pusan's main! Hydralisk Den wall under construction at hero's natural. He's got a third base at 4:00.

Zerglings toy with the FE wall but Pusan has a sufficient force of Zealots to scare them off. The Zealots then give chase, tailed by some scourge. Hydras are nominal. The Zealots are off to 4 o clock and hero gives chase!

Attack doesn't amount to anything. Pusan scouts the empty bottom right main plateau at least. Big hydra attack is all but guaranteed to beat this wall. DTs are mixed in but aren't going to do anything with all those overlords standing by. Probes are gratuitously pulled to delay the assault but what little storm Pusan has saved up isn't enough to stem the tide, the remnants of the Hydra force are just standing there targeting the nexus. GG from Pusan, off to Destination!

Hero at bottom right. Pusan at top left. One gate tech from Pusan. herO forced away from his prospective expansion by the first probe and eventually puts his delayed first expansion down. Pusan seems to be prepared for this game. 1 Zealot probe wall at the Destination ramp is broken and Zerglings file through unstemmed! These early lings kill the first draggon, but are occupying the Probes' valuable time. They attempt to snipe a critical pylon but ultimately only manage to SEVERELY REDUCE THE PROBE COUNT. They then continue to torment the Probes. Hero WAY ahead. Pusan ggs and finds himself in losers 0-2.

1 Rax FE w/bunker from Mong. Missed hero's opening but he's got that natural mining already.

Fast evo chamber and lair from hero. SCV scout successfully denied at the natural.

3rd and 4th rax being added. Three hatches total for hero. Three sunkens, only two complete, but the push is here! It leaves without taking a look at the sunken wall. Seems to be searching for a third base. Factory finally complete for Mong. Spire complete for hero.

Initial mutas pop and head straight for the natural. Mong has four turrets waiting for him.

Control Tower complete. Third hatch at 9oclock halfway done. Stimmed marines take a colossal hit. hero has a horrific engagement at the bridge and loses most of his lings and mutas. A push now would be devastating if not for the lurker reinforcements that Mong might know about. Vessel count 1.

Stack gets irradiated. Hero is at least hanging tight in economy. Big push now! Mong adding a third CC! Sunken wall goes down, vessel count reduced to 0. Hero sandwich kills the initial push forces tank and all, but M&M reinforcements complete the attack and attack the natural hatch directly. GG from hero! Now for losers'.

IT BEGINS. Near spawns, both players scout in the right direction. 8 Pylon -> Scout for Pusan at top left, HoGiL goes overpool!

Pylon block on the natural expansion for hero. This is going to cut hard into profits. Pusan places two photon cannons pre-emptively in front of his natural before dropping his nexus and following up with a gateway, all under the supervision of a nearby overlord. ZerG's lings sit outside the wall. hero now has three bases.

hero's expansions are along the bottom edge of the map, 41 remarks about the empty 9oclock plateau. Minor zealot pressure is dispatched by surrounding lings. Second stargate completes along with the first sair. Both are flashing
|
No sunkens to slow down theinitial zealot pressure! They deal minor economic damage to ZerG's natural. Recent mutas tip the battle in ZerG's favor, but the sairs on the field will only push them around. We've got an eco chamber prepped and the sair stack is DESTROYING HoGiL's ovie count by leveling a stack of them at HoGiL's natural. Mutas dealing extreme damage to Pusan's economy in retaliation! Templar archives complete. Sair DT nominal!

ZerG at bottom right vs herO at bottom left. Both players go 9 pool over. Only herO scouts in the right direction.

herO stalls the game with an inferior force at his ramp. Manages to evade the Zergling mass with his other two lings, which get a look at the enemy base. herO moves out! He's sitting in the middle of the map. Now HoGiL does the same ramp defense and beats herO's smaller force on the ground. Two spires up, no mutas yet. First mutas pop to benefit herO, whose turn it is to mount a ramp defense.

HoGiL's gone chamber. He attacks hero's base outright and wipes out the drones, but loses most of his muta stack! The spore colonies will be ready shortly. hero's got zero drones, and HoGiL's got no mutas!

Hogil's gambit. Spore up and trade his mutas for Hero's drones. He lost almost all his mutas but Hero can't get anything done with his remaining mutas because of the spores and Hero has lost all his economy.

If Hero goes out there is no hope for the swarm in this tournment. Except maybe Modesty, the most entertaining but barest of hopes.

Hogil getting spores again. Spores pretty good. They defend your drones and give you a license to use your mutas as you wish without been backstabbed.

hero use his Mutas to make the ling fight one sided and unfair. then sets the extra lings lose on the defensless spores. Looking good for hero now.

the problem with spores is that he had an expansion which meant he had to build 4 spores? that's much too high an investment in ZvZ
2 spores defending a single base is kind of reasonable but the expansion just did nothing

going for the second hatchery in your natural means you need twice the number of spores to spore up. It's not necessarily the most optimal stratergy. But having said that I have seen it work before.

ZerG Mutas forced to pull back and defend. Ling assault on both bases takes small chunks out of both economies as mutas are scrambled to help.

Assault on the third. HoGiL's force LOOKS bigger, but it loses! hero's stack, with the hatchery to tank for it, wins the long firefight. hero reinforcing so fast with fresh mutas! ZerG ggs! herO wins 2-1 over ZerG and advances 2-1 along with Mong!
