^^Agreed, I really had high expectations for PianO with his recently climb up the Elo and Fish rankings. Poor luck with Mind in his group, but losing to free was disappointing
some technical problems on Snipealot channels I can try to restream, but sometimes afreeca lag for me...but i will try, stream is here http://www.twitch.tv/bombizombie

Three marines out for Mong, gas steal assim is dead. Mini builds his first gas as he takes his natural expansion. WHAT ARE YOU DOING MONG, LETTING TWO ZEALOTS IN. HOW DO YOU FUCK UP THAT HARD
LOOKS AWFUL FOR MONG, Mong sacrifices his wall for more marine production. Mong is in serious trouble, but his factory is on the way. Each marine has a zealot after it! Mong is practically dead. Vultures finally coming! Mong expands despite all that nonsnse, still has multiple zealots in his base! Dragoons are nominal! Mong clears his base and bunkers up, but Mini had two bases that whole time and is at robo tech.
Hidden starport with a wraith in production! Looks like a blind counter to Mini's reaver build! Well done from Mong, clawing his way back in, but he's still behind economically.

No clue, I just came home and I am equally clueless when I saw snipe2 offline completely and bunch of random restreams on twitch but lack of activity. IRC channel is also quiet.
Observatory up. Wraiths dicking around Mong's base. Vults scouting and getting blocked by lone goons. Wraith sent after the scouted shuttle as it sweeps in. Shuttle quickly goes down, Reaver kills 2 SCVs and dies. Wow, Mong!

Mong trying to split the space between mini's nat and corner 3rd with siege and mines. Mini responds by dropping a new third, which is immediately scouted by a roaming vulture. Mini getting carriers. Reaver gets 6 kills in Mong's main. Mini pushes with 4 goons and 2 zealots and falls apart. Mong's initial push force, after killing Mini's first 3rd, attack the main andare beateen by carriers. What THE FUCK, CLOACKED WRAITHS SNIPE BOTH CARRIERS.
Mong on 3 bases, Creeping further and further ahead of Mini with each second. Two new carriers cross the field with a small force of goons. They park outside Mong's 3rd, seperated by a small mech force, which is killed soon. Mong's force lacks goliaths but the cloaked wraiths are still destroying the carriers! observer sniped, cloaked wraiths consistently countering the carriers, which need observers. Heavy zealot force pushes Mong's un-balanced mech force back.
Mini retaking his first 3rd, which is now a 4th. Mong is not really taking map control, just increasing his army size quietly behind mines. Very punchy unit orchestration. Hey look, a fast shuttle. Floatover barracks sniped outside Mong's nat, and Mong repositions his mech force to defend that location while the dragoons take the long way home.
Mini now on 3 bases, including the two corner expansions. Triple reaver drop does insane damage!. Mong pushes out towards the top left expansion and is blunted by a ton of HTs! Mini is playing one-of-everything over here!
Mini certainly at an advantage, Mong freshly mined out at his main. Mong dealing with bombardment on every side! Mini's economic turmoil ends as DTs spearhead a successful push on one of his only two mining bases. Mini's aggression is UBIQUITOUS.
Amazing game. Props to Mong for intelligent use of empty dropsip bait (confirmed by observer commentary) and cloaked wraith snipe, but Mini harass was thing of beauty.
Huh, surprised that dropship that distracted the Toss to take down 11o clock went unnoticed here, I guess that's the problem with snipealot2 chat down with no translators around to provide instant OGN facts. On my phone so can't afford to really LR...
PianO fighting for his survival against the greatest PvTer in history, and god damn, he looks even worse. These two players have insane practice schedules and they certainly look it.
Return of the King near spawns. Jangbi top left, Piano top right. Nothing weird yet.
Late scout from Jangbi. PianO takes his gas on time for a fast factory, 1 gate tech from Jangbi. Very standard altogether. Jangbi preps his expansion with a single pylon. PianO is not as lucky with the scouting and picks the wrong direction first.
Factory nears completion. Three marines out for Jangbi, Zealot and probe make it up the ramp and retreat when they see the fast machine shop. 4 marines and an SCV complete the wall. Robo facility half complete, but PianO has a hidden starport in the corner of his base. It's a DT drop in the works for Jangbi, and he won't see it.
Three goons deny scouting. Vulture drop ready. Both players drop each other at once! Vultures deal at least 6 probes of damage and a minedrag kills all PianO's own marines while sparing the DT it targets! DTs dealing irrepairable damage! Science vessel shows up simultaneously with comsat trying to equalize the DTs. Now that the dust has settled, Jangbi has 2 bases and so does PianO,
PianO goes 0-3 in the group of death, and Jangbi is halfway to guaranteed advancement. Now Mind just has to beat free and he won't have to play tiebreakers.
Only thing of note: apparently Jangbi asked if he was going to get Golden Mouse should we win, commentators jokong that Sonic should be generous and prepare Golden Shoe in such a case (so no golden mouse from OGN I suppose)
On January 22 2015 14:00 BisuDagger wrote: That was an embarrassing game. Going starport so fast makes zero sense.
it's not that uncommon. particularly piano scouted for natural expo and pretty much confirmed shuttle play (now dropship on that info might be a bit hasty--but you can go vulture drop on a protoss getting late robo or just out of position with goons)
just he didn't think it would be dt drop and expected reaver
On January 22 2015 14:00 BisuDagger wrote: That was an embarrassing game. Going starport so fast makes zero sense.
Wut.
First off fact/2fact drop is a somewhat used, semi cheesy build. You get the starport for a fast vult drop...just like PianO did. It's also frequently used for a quick wraith when reaver or shuttle play is anticipated/scouted from toss, which PianO may have inferred from jangBis low goon count and delayed range.

If qikz was on the stage he would have easily won that game
Zealot-proof wall does little to deter a friendly gas steal. First Zealot kills two SCVs, the first one building the barracks, then the scout. Large marine count from sSak, first dragoon forces the zealots back. Marines in defensive position on the midland on the way to the mineral-only.
Machine shop spinning.sSak takes his natural before Snow. After a lengthy, expensive repair of the defending bunker, siege finally completes and forces Snow back. Fast armory from sSak.
Floatover barracks gets away from the Protoss base in the red. Fleet Beacon on the way. Observers being produced. Second armory being built to counter carriers.
Hey an engineering bay. First two carriers on their way. Mineral-only third just going up now for Snow. sSak has had two bases for pretty much the whole game.
sSak completes his mineral-only third just in time for it to get harassed by dragoon reaver. Siege tanks end that foolishness. Silly dropship siegevult shut down behind Snow's third with minor damage. sSak is definitely still ahead economically.
sSak sieges up along his side of the ridge. Looks like a BS carrier game, alright. The critical mass carriers knock out turrets at sSak's nat then come back for moere.. DOUBLE CYBERNETICS CORE
5 factories from sSak. Goliath count going way up. Third stargate warping. Siege line is reinforced with heavy turrets. Snow is focusing harassment on the natural. He drops a reaver under his interceptors which kills at least 10 SCVs before getting shut down by mech. Snow is finally getting back in the game with this strong harassment.
The reavers just keep coming. Carriers cruise straight into his main. Snow has a 5th base at 12:00. sSak is consistently taking extreme damage from this shuttle reaver! Templar archives and arbiter tribunal both nominal. Snow is ready to throw in anything.
Air armor drop. sSak is never going to get on the offensive at this rate. The carrier stack is just growing and growing, to say nothing of the constant reavers. Stack continuously engages. There's enough goliaths to blunt it. Push happening on the12:00!
The push results in the death of the nexus. It is rebuilt immediately afterwards. A large dragoon force penetrated deep into sSak's territory due to the shifting main force.
Arbiter supports zealot offensive on the 3:00. the 4:00 has long since been shut down. Snow is certainly at a massive advantage here thanks to relentless carriers alone. sSak is trying to wait Snow out, because Snow needs the middle more than sSak does. BIG RECALL on the north main. Factories getting sniped and fresh goliaths getting owned. GG!
Snow and sSak are now both 2-1, and are likely to be joined by hero for a 3-way tiebreaker. Keikaku doori.
FS cross positions. Nice way to end this for two lategame-oriented players. Top left is Last, bottom right is Larva. Oh god. What. Last sends his sixth SCV to the middle of the map. God damn it.
Last practically in Ro8 already. God. Damn it. Bunker goes up and assails the new hatchery as new reinforcements flow in freely. The first zerglings pop, useless for now, and sit on the ramp.
MANNER BARRACKS. Last is stretching. He's got a total of three barracks on the field, one at his base, one in the center, and one in the natural. This is a typical Last TvZ contain, that he uses against chobos on Fish.
Lair prepped. It doesn't look like Last is in any hurry to attack as he amasses various infantry. Academy long done and engibay going up now. Additional bunkering in the contain. What could Larva possibly do here on one base?
Hey look, the initial mutas. Time for patented muta harass. Last's forces are severely divided but he's still got all he needs to wreck it on that front. Mutas double back to assault the contain.
Light harass accomplished by Larva. Things are looking grim but the harass is doing its job, at least. Attempts to break the contain! Reinforcements ruin the plan!
There's the first irradiate. Vessel count 2. Last will need to expand soon. Larva is prepared to wait forever for that moment, but he needs to ee han timing that shit.
While I can't comment about the players themselves, this game was a bit depressing..... regardless of who you support. Because of the intense struggle where winner = advance to ro9, loser = gee gee SSL10.

No tiebreaker for Group D it seems to determine #1 or #2 seed.
OGN casters only mention Group B or C possibility.
If tiebreakers, will occur post-day6 matches. That means all potential players mixed in tiebreakers will attend on Sunday regardless they are playing that match or not.

Thanks for sharing. In this case...hoping for a tie in groups B and C so we get some more matches

Whoever is making SSL Ro16 Day 6 better prepare for a constant update-to-date info on OP if it's going to include Tiebreakers.
Or will we need a separate thread for Tiebreakers? The question at hand is only up to 2 groups will be in tiebreakers.
I can understand if it's definite 2 groups into tiebreakers but what if only it's 1 group and it's settled in matter of 3 matches?
Perhaps a well sought detailed thread splitting SSL Ro16 Day 6 thread into 2 sections on OP? Perhaps the title of the thread requires "[SSL] Ro16 Day 6 & Tiebreakers?" with a question mark?
Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?
Btw, I won't be making thread, retired since 2009 for that.

Thanks for pointing this out. Judging from the past few threads, they haven't been particularly busy, so one thread should hopefully suffice. We can probably go with one thread with a horizontal line break between the group and tie breaker matches like.
Last made it out of his group entirely through cheese. I guess there's always one player who goes through like that. I hope he gets what's coming to him. Someone's gonna have a quasi-walkover in Ro8.

he is easily capable of playing long games (remember that long last vs shinee tvt game) i feel he has learnt his lesson from the past (two stupid 3-4 reverse losses in big sc2 matches long ago...) he plays in the manner he feels he has the best chance to win and tailor his cheese/strat based on his opponent style.
Im just watching mini vs mong in the begining and cant believe how mini didnt kill mong right away. I thought players on their level know what they are doing. It was so simple, just kill scvs making the factory and continue zealot stream. Mong would either be defeated or his factory will be so delayed that it means gg. After watching the whole game i can say wow. Fun chaotic game, with Mini playing the same harass style Mong likes to do and win. This map is great, so many angles to engage and maneuver i love it.

I felt the same way about Guemchi. It felt like every game from him was either DT rush or over-reliance on a reaver drop. If he didn't catch his opponent off guard and wreck them then and there, he lost a standard game badly.

Bo1 is truly bittersweet. Larva's greed + unlucky scouting was painful to watch, but kudos to Last!
Masterful play by Snow such good map control and unit movement, abusing the terran immobillity to its fullest. From the games today i felt like these maps are hell for terrans in TvP, i saw them so unoriented and not able to be at the right place when protoss attack, it could be that tosses studied the maps better also.
Larva vs Last was a bad one, Larva couldve played a bit creative, but i guess he surrendered after his hatch died and played mutas by the book just to not leave the game. Lurker ling would be alot better in my oppinion, in busting the front and with possibility for slowdrops and elevator drops, also his additional 2 hatches and sunkens were in the mineral line instead of placing them forward to the ramp so he can build these sunkens to break the contain.
