Lol nice! There are so many tournaments I can't keep track of them. Thank you for investing in our community!
Maybe you want to add that you can't pick the same map 3 times in a row or was that wad?
What is the registration deadline?
Awesome, glad to see that Nostalgia or Arcadia isn't part of the map pool.
Yeah can the same map be picked twice or even thrice (This is only applicalbe in 1-1 situations and in the Bo5-final but still). For example in a Bo3,I lose on pre-determined map Blue storm. I pick CB, I win, my opponent re-picks CB?
Please read the brackets regarding rules, we specifically included wording to prevent repeats of maps.

Hi! Great idea! I might even participate. I suggest you use our discord https://discord.gg/8dSAFPz for the tourney or make your own and for future tourneys too. Makes everything SOO Much easier for you and participants.

" General Each individual must have a legal copy of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void in order to be classified as a tournament participant. "

He's an old school Hungarian Terran player. Not korean. I think he stopped playing 2005-2006? Not sure how long he has been back.

Some hungarian guy who used to be like, decent back in like, 2005. I haven't seen him since and either it's the most impressive hidden practice regimen of any player ever or it was a different guy playing.

Ah right !
I remember now ! Haven't seen him around lately, looks pretty awesome he came back and can compete against Scan.
Hmm okay so apparently it might not be 88)BlackDrone after all ^^
Unlikely some oldschool would be able beat almost ASL level kor, if yes, hats off
Ah, missed bw drama, looks like 2008 really is back

Yeah. Shinee impersonated blackdrone. It really didn't make sense that he'd be this good tbh. I don't mean that as an insult, but a straight up long TVT is about as non-random as it gets.

Scan losses a game makes their opponent dq'ed because he is a korean roflmao. But he always stated he doesn't mind other koreans playing foreigner tournaments. Welp this just shows he wants the ez foreign money.

I just feel they should've figured this all out before the tournament even started, or the match at the very least. Having him DQ'd after winning game 1 is kind of dick move. But it is what it is. The kid shouldn't have lied about his identity.

Rifkin was pretty specific on the stream about being totally okay with Shinee participating, and that he's banned for impersonating another player. I think that's totally legit and a good decision. I'm sure Scan approached the game thinking this is gonna be a regular nonkorean guy that he can beat fairly easily and it's very likely that he'd play somewhat differently (at least from the beginning, I guess from the 6th minute onward he realized that he was up against someone really good) if he knew he was facing Shinee. Smurfing is a significant advantage.
Scan just marked his area, when he ask admins to ban Shinee. No more koreans to foreign tournaments! Only mr.scan aka mooneyhover!
User was temp banned for this post.
Well to me he just looks like a scared little kid crying because he knows he will lose free money. If I knew I was playing any pro or ex pro under smurf I wouldnt mind and the least thing I would do is make him dq'ed thats just a dick move imo especially if I have always stated that I didnt mind playing other koreans in foreign tournaments.

mr.Scan likes money much more than a spectacular game for thousands viewers.
I love the stream, but it's kind of tiresome hearing the commentators just constantly make fun of the Remastered graphics... or comparing BroodWar with StarCraft 2.
does scan ever sleep ? It's monday 4:30AM in korea right now
unsportsmanlike from scan to say the least
Well that was awkward. I was hoping to at least make it past 10 minutes.
ZB trying to make an admin call; we'll see how that goes.

Well Shinee defintiely gained a pretty unfair advantage by using a fake name. Im pretty sure Scan would have done an entirely different opening knowing whom he was up against. Now a DQ was pretty harsh, but rules state so.
I could see game 1 being replayed from 0-0 though. Would have been some epic tvts
agreed with Liquid`Drone and merz. And I hope this accident wont turn away shinee and mb other koreans from participating in next tournaments.
Scan running crying to the admin is scummy af. At least replay the series.
I guess it wouldn't be a basetrade show without drama

Shinee was blatantly lying about who he was and smurfing which is directly against BaseTrade rules. He said he was from Hungary trying pose as the actual blackdrone from years ago.
Edit: I want to add that the situation is apparent that people have a grudge against Scan and are using the incident as a means to bash on him more. Just don't try to misconstrue what actually happened. Heaven forbid people jump to conclusions and assume the worst.
you really expect Koreans to be able to read the rules? maybe if knew it would get him an insta DQ he wouldn't have done so. a replay would have been fair.

As Drone said, I think impersonating another player is pretty shady and warrants more than enough reason to DQ somebody. Shinee knew what he was doing. The organizers wouldn't allow a bending of the rules for a non-Korean and the same should apply to everyone regardless of skill level. It just so happens that this DQ would have had a potentially big impact on the tournament results and knocked Scan out who people are biased against which is why some people have a big tiff about it.
Edit: Also, you don't really need a rule to not actively impersonate somebody. I think that's just a part of being a decent person and not trying to be deceptive.

congrats to Scan on 3-0 vs trutacz lol
Yeah I dislike when Truta makes the final vs Scan, he almost always all ins which Scan holds and wins. Although the first game was close this time. Don't blame him, but makes for a kind of boring finals .
lool why would he use blackdrones id and not some random one that is so not cool, good decision. people need to stfu about scan hes not getting banned from tournaments no matter how mad you get.

well to me, you look like a person who likes to cry all the time, not reading my apology about clash for char #4 tournament post. dick move.

I was accused to get banned for ISL2 without a reason(LRM)Game was the host of the event). JoeKim wanted me to smurf on his name Ruarc and play zerg to win ISL2 on his smurf name. me playing on smurf led me to get banned WITH an ACTUAL reason that time.
Many people were so happy to see me getting banned for breaking rules. But now I follow rules, people say I'm a dick XD
This Shinee guy seems like a pretty shady person. Also if you're gonna smurf under somebody else's identity, why broadcast it on your stream, lol? Doesn't seem like a very smart move.
Also did you notice that he's been trying since remastered to get number one spot in basically all servers? US West, East, Europe, Korea. He wants to get his name up there, everywhere. A bit arrogant behavior if u ask me
Shinee probably couldn't register himself because he can't speak english so he had to use blackdrone's account (or anyone else account) to enter the tournament. As much as I want to blame Scan for this move I cant, he did what he had to do (even if keep playing the obvious smurf instead of reporting him would have been a stronger move imo). No need to start a drama over it.

He knows a bit of English.. There's google chrome that can literally translate the page(it won't be perfect).

Damn, just catching all this drama now. So, the rules say that smurf accounts aren't allowed.
With that being said, it feels like this could have been an educational moment rather than a hammer moment.
+ Show Spoiler +In Scan's position, I probably would have done the same, it's a free tour win and I'm greedy
Also, directly comparing this to your ISL2 abuse seems like a bit much @Scan, in ISL2 you were participating when you had no business participating on an account that was approved for someone else.
Given that 1) Shine was not banned from this before participating and 2) there is no vetting process of the accounts, I don't see how it's at all comparable.

I was pretty much a JoeKim's puppet that drama scene when he and game were doing lots of crazy stuff. And I was like only 16 or 17. And no, I'm not saying that I disagree with their decisions and someone telling me to cheat. My opinion about that previous mistake is that I learned it in a hard way. I learned lessons, and then I started to fix my mistakes to gain respect, fame, likes by the community. I'm pretty sure many people will agree about my background history. I gained lots of respects, made my stream viewers community, and even got picked up by TwitchShow(Korean Entertainment program channel) for SC:R.
