I could see bonyth be thrown off by random as everything he does is so precise, and I'm sure michael has good rvp builds. otherwise I think bonyth sweeps it. ;p Random would be lovely to watch but I think Michael mostly plays random when laddering. I'm expecting ZvP but hoping he plays random.

ISL - Ro32 ISL2 - Ro16 ISL3 - 5th Place Michael rose through the ranks quite quickly back in 2011/2012 - By the time 2013 came around I think he was pretty much the undisputed 2nd best player outside of Korea behind Sziky. A quick summary on Michael's game play, he's a Zerg player who can (and will) exploit any unit in the game. He always has a plan A, B, C & D. He can play any of the builds and is fairly unpredictable. He'll kill you with the Hydra bust, he'll kill you with a ling run by, he'll kill you by hiding 2 lings, he'll kill you by a guardian/hydra bust (what?). He has a good balance of micro/macro and game sense. He always seems to know what he can get away with.

Back in 2011 I had him as the #3 foreigner behind Sziky/Ace. Below you can find my person rankings back in the day. + Show Spoiler + That being said as a player/manager he was always the hardest person by far to prepare for because you never know what to expect. He has a very non-standard style of play that I have a great respect for.

After playing against everyone on that list multiple games, I'd replace Baku and Flip with Marwin/Bizzy and Draw. Don't forget, Bizzy beat Bisu and Marwin/Sziky would go back and forth.

Yeah during that time of broodwar late 2011-2013 honestly anyone could beat anyone on any given day. All these lists are personal opinions anyways. It was a great time to be a broodwar fan.

DraW should be higher. Maybe that's a list for early in 2011 though. DraW was easily the strongest protoss at the time, and I'd certainly have put him in the top 5 players at his peak. One of the only protoss to consistently give Sziky a good run.

Draw aka Nb.Astro has always been a very solid toss and up there with em. From my understand that list was from that specific time, and I know me and him were on the national team together for nation wars and he had exams so wasnt playing as much. Or maybe im confusing him with dragon, who knows.

Can someone explain to me why Michael left in the third game? I have to admit that I only watched the very end of the games, but judging from the bit I saw I wouldn't say that Michael was so far behind that he couldn't continue to play...

I think if he substituted the last round of hydras for a round of drones and lurker upgrade he would have been in a decent position, it would have been hard for him to hold the upcoming push, Bonyth had a large army. Bonyth had the same reaction, he thought he was behind so he stayed in the game to scout Michael's bases.

I wish Michael didn't gg so early in all of the games. I mean even if it's //probably// over, I think you should fight until you actually face an overwhelming force in a showmatch. Not when 1 reaver is running havoc in your base. Saw psionic's cast for it, and just had to smirk when he said that the game was won by bonyth's superior reaver micro, when in fact there was pretty much no micro involved at all. Could tell that he was grasping for straws to hype up the games as much as he could.
