I haven't read who would be the sponsor anywhere so far, as soon as anyone gives me the sponsor's name I will edit the thread title!
The Matches
Group A - Game 1 Savior vs iloveoov @ Python
Group B - Game 1 Hwasin vs Darkelf @ Hitchhiker
Group C - Game 1 Iris vs Reach @ Fantasy
Group D - Game 1 GGPlay vs Stork @ Monty Hall
Predictions
Savior vs iloveoov: Python has a 3-4 record for ZvT so far in Proleague, so we don't know yet about the balance. Anyway, we all know oov has a shitty record vs Savior, but Savior doesn't appear to be as deadly as he was up until 2 months ago or so and oov has been getting stronger again. Certainly has the potential to be a very tense and close game, of course I personally would like to see oov win, but I'm still giving Savior (slightly) higher chances than him.
Hwasin vs Darkelf: Who the fuck cares.
Iris vs Reach: Both are absolute beasts TvP/PvT, it will be the first official game on the new map Fantasy, so we know nothing about the balance there as of yet. I'm giving Iris the edge here, simply because he has been stronger in the recent past. I'm still hoping for Reach though (and also voted for him in Liquibet, let's hope he doesn't kill my streak ^^).
GGPlay vs Stork: Watch Stork commence the utter destruction of group D.
Isnt TvP Iris' worst MU ? I agree it will be close, but that's mostly because T>P on Xeno and slightly on Gaema and Nostalgia which are three of the four maps the starting locations have been taken from. The middle is fairly open though so I expect some flanking ownage and zealotbombs from Reach!
I seem to remember some nice ZvT ownages by cool and luxury/yellow[arnc] on Python, but its completely open, and defnitely the match of the day.
Looking forward to GGPlay vs Stork too, and yeah who the fuck cares about the Hwasin vs Darkelf game
Reach and Savior ftw! if reach wins it'll be a great confidence booster for the mantoss...as for savior, it kinda saddens me knowing that his play hasn't been the usual dominating play that we're accustomed to seeing, so it'll be nice to see him win...dont really care hu wins the other games though...
First, the games tonight are amazing. Second, the new group selection process for the OSL is even more amazing; it really rewards the top three seeds. Not only do they get to pick first for their own respective groups, but they can dump the strongest players into Group D to a) completely screw over the fourth seed and b) eliminate two strong players before the single-elimination tournament. Although having the OSL only once a week will be irritating, I expect to look forward to Thursday nights for a long, long time.

Indeed.
I'm loving this thread in general. Reading what Carnac wrote here, it's basically an abriviation of my thoughts in the preview.
i think now i want to see reach vs iris more because it is on fantasy. 4 different mus tonight. Thats awesome considering the mass terrans my predictions oov > savior reach > iris stork > ggplay

I don't care about Hwasin vs Darkelf either.(voted for Elf)
Someone is a little optimistic if they think 2 Protoss are winning in one night :D
(I hope so too though) ;;
Guess I will stay up to watch these tonight since its such a nice friggin lineup. Will probably be the best week of the season really. Because after this its 1 ZvT/PvT per week and 3 TvTs.
if p2p honestly doesn't work for you, then use the regular stream
but just be aware that the p2p stream is usually ahead of the direct stream by 30sec-1min
I don't know if it is intentional or not but there are ad banners on the p2p stream now which is really annoying, put them on live instead if you want to encourage people to use p2p.
lol
shut the fuck up you ungrateful piece of shit
it's free for you and costs a ton of money
oh and it's not even there when you make it fullscreen..
unbelivebal how much oov moves around his army. Without that he'd be dead looong time ago. But he's moving them up, down, left right, like a dance. Awesome!
SUCH A SWEET GAME! I recommend watching it. At first, Savior seems to be dominating, but then oov finds a second wind and kills a ton of savior's shit but then his ultras kick in and it changes again.
From what I say, the reason oov was able to do so much damage attacking with the drop and the push on the bottom was the timing, Savior was in the beginning of transitioning to ultras, and as such, didn't have much of an army, and a chunk of what he did has was killing oov's new expo. If oov had attacked 30 seconds later, he wouldn't have been able to do nearly as much damage.
edit: hehe guess that seems redundant, we posted at the same time
looked like near the end savior was gonna lose, he was in deep trouble. he must have been saving for ultras, cause heaps popped out when he only had his main + nat

incredibly hard to pull off. You could come up with situations where it would be dope if you were being theoretical. But in real games, Z just backs off for 10 seconds to consume and then rego.
the map is imba;) ok if they made a map with different startpos-looks and tried to make it balanced, but to take 4 already existing maps and put together cant be balanced lol

We are calling it Fantasy for now, but its hangul -> english name is "Mong Hwan".

i think we should call it then also "mong hwan" since we didn't call namja iyagi "story of a man"

He was pretty much already dominated at this point. I think he wanted reach to try to push the action or let him slowly get into a very long game. He knew it would be the only way. Just sayin its not his fault, his opening got absolutely crumpled like aluminum can~

I guess since his epic Proleague game vs GoRush (right?) on neo requiem in 2005.
Recently he started on some unholy rampage though and seems to be taking out the best of the best unscathed.
hm...sry am still pretty dizzed that I missed the links O_o just came bback from an examen...could have benn better^^ btw: they are showing oov-saviro at sc2.org atm
So Oov messed up the opening, or rather Savior surprised him with an early muta ling attack -> game over. Iris messed up the first attack and found himself with no eng bay or starport to counter reaver drop -> game over Stork sucked so bad in the last game -> game over. Well to be fair, GGPlay beats Stork for the second time this season. It wasn't that surprising.
Reach played so well. So beautiful. Micro .. at its best.. ht and reaver drops.. buidling a huge ass zeal / goon army but then deciding to kill with 4 carriers T___T REACH YEEES YOOO P PRIDE
Holy shit Stork got raped. Reach played as expected. Savior played as expected perfect timing on swarm combined with awesome guerilla tactics and superior sense. Hwasin got a freewin.
stork just got unlucky imo. I think he was trying to do the dbl threat of zeals in his base and then the reaver, and both got thwarted. reaver did 'some' damage, but not much, mainly units and not econ. He should of rebuilt the robo in his main and used goon/reaver to expo and hold it sooner. Mutas fucked him, why wouldnt you build cannons? :[
man, the first 3 games were awesome, and so was the art art art intro (although it may be a tad too long)... at this rate this just might be one of the BEST OSLs ever!! woot
Yeah this OSL definitely rocks so far and the Stork-GGPlay game wasn't that unexpected. GGPlay is really good everyone seems to forget and Stork has disappointed plenty of times in the past.
