It seems very effective against Horang2, when he's getting pushed, Horang2 makes no counter play himself, and just focuses on defending. In PvP with Reavers or Templar, it's attackers advantage, so I suppose Rain played to that.

Late game pvp is all about army positioning and engage angles.. rain was forcing bad placement with every "attack" he made. horang2 coulda've turtled that game a little bit better if he didnt rush for the kill with the 2-1 upgrades timming.

But he was doing that while it was still 2 base vs 2 base, especially trying to move up that small ramp earlier on. Once it was 4 base vs 4 base, the play made a lot more sense. I wonder what the right play there was. I think just doing some HT drops during the action was the way to go, but idk. At four base and not moving out seemed like a death sentence. Maybe he thought the 2 forge vs 1 forge would let him win the late game.

His army movements are just so beautiful and he's always probing, attacking multiple locations, looking to catch armies out of position. I can say he is now my favorite player.

Maybe he thought the 2 forge vs 1 forge would let him win the late game. he wasn't attacking up a ramp, he was forcing storms + getting few storms to probe lines and ht/goon to soften it up. meanwhile he was trying to attack the mineral only with small forces to tax horang2's multitask.

The only image I see in the finals is Effort and Rain at the moment. last is very dangerous, he prepares well for boX series and is not affraid to mindgame / cheese his opponent... oh did i mention he is VERY VERY VERY solid with standard play? Rain vs Last can be seriously epic.

Don't think many players made that choice, but with his micro it was brilliant. This way he never had to give up map control, and he could apply to pressure until observers came... Forcing the DT to defend versus making a dash towards Rain base.He even knew it was DT earlier, but still built the robo as late as humanely possible. Horang2 was ahead economically, but was still forced to build so many cannons just to stay alive, beautiful. Against any other player, Horang2's opening would have been a solid build order advantage.
